After hearing the scoped version of the December 9th show last night (and going through one particular segment again tonight about the Good Music Singers), I’m ALMOST tempted to request one of the songs they did back then followed by either “The Only One” cut #17 for 610 WTVN in Columbus, OH, or one of the early KOST jingle cuts (no particular station in mind)… but thankfully I will not do it, for Jon’s sake! (I hope he’s not lurking here someplace reading this…)

Other than that moment, it was another great show!

Yes it would be nice to hear some of the well-known classics that were sung by The Good Music Singers That’s why I asked Jon the question as I was sure they were The “Dallas” Singers!

Um, Pete? I hope you don’t pass along the “request” to hear one or two songs (in full) from The Good Music Singers in a future show…. I’d be cringing right now! (hence my earlier comment I posted last night)

By the way, I won’t be present for Jon’s holiday jingle show but shall check in again when Jon’s show returns afterward on January 6th (I think that’s the date)…

Edit: I allowed from 19:59~23.02 to record the stream as I thought Jon’s show ran from 20:00~23:00. The show either ran over or was a longer than usual hence the end is caught short.

Just got done listening to the scoped Christmas show and it turned out to be a very good one. Well done, Jon!

In regards to the December 30th show, I don’t think you guys will be missing much as basically all Jon would be doing is playing the Top 77 songs on Rewound Radio that they are promoting through New Year’s Day. Just read that Jon did a live show Friday afternoon in regards to that (I didn’t know about it because I was at work today). So…. technically the usual jingle show would commence January 6th, but I could be wrong.

Well…. I owe you all an apology. Currently listening at the last hour of Sunday’s show and Jon just played some Anita Kerr jingles, profiling Dick Biondi in the early 1960s on WLS. So he’s playing jingles as usual along with the Top 77 (or so) songs too. Again, my apologies.

Of course it’s live.
Jon wouldn’t use the jingle that says “…Completely live from the jingle palace in Dallas…” if it wasn’t live.
Jon also say’s “…we are happy to hear from you… …we’ve already heard from Bob Dinan who is listening on his rowing machine… …Hi to Morgan Cunningham…” and continues to tell folk how to get in touch.

Oh yeah, it’s live and Jon is very particular about that fact. When I was at the Jingle Palace back in November, I inadvertently said “Oh is studio A where you record your Rewound Radio show?” I was using record generically but Jon immediately pointed out that it was all completely live and not recorded!

I happened to be listening live to the full show on Sunday January 6th, and thought I would bring up just a word of caution. Jon’s “jingle mouse” bit happened to stand out to me as I write, and I would not advise you to slow down that jingle to half-speed or double-speed to hear the mouse’s “real” voice…

Overall it was a great show and I look forward to next week’s show, either live or scoped!

Listening to the show again, I just wanted to add to my earlier comments. The “jingle mouse” I was referring to was “Fenwick Mouse Jr.” and I cheated on the audio file when I shouldn’t be, already knowing who the real voice behind the mouse is. Anyone want to know who the real voice is during that jingle moment? I can’t bear to post the half-speed (double-speed?) file here…

I doubt there’s a jingle geek on here who DOESN’T know…even without hearing it at half-speed. Just seems obvious to me!
