The 9/30 show was a repeat of the 9/9 show. Unfortunately, no scoped version of the 9/9 show has been made available.

Thanks for letting us know that the 9/30 show was a repeat…

I haven’t gone through ALL the scoped recordings made available yet–but I am catching up–but I will say that Jon has done an amazing job with his show, and it is worth listening to every Sunday. If I had time every Sunday afternoon, I’d listen in live in its entirety, but unfortunately, other commitments get in the way.

I’d like to make a comment regarding one of the segments on the September 23rd show. Jon mentioned his “radio geek-out” moment that time signal station WWV should have been in the “Rewound Radio DJ Hall of Fame.” (The segment starts at 36:50) What REALLY got me though was that clever jingle that the JAM team made for the occasion. Personally, I’d have a jingle meltdown if such a jingle exists in real-life in Colorado (WWV) and Hawaii (WWVH). At least the call letters weren’t “sung” though…

For those of us who have little interest in American Football (NFL) on Sundays, this show is a wonderful “alternative”–keep ’em coming, Jon

Nice to hear the nod to Johnnie Walker via the WPTR anecdote.

WPTR Albany in its very last form “went dark” just a few days ago, so very “topical” on Jon’s part.

A station that as early UK collectors a lot of PAMS cuts got known in the 1960s.

Someone has apparently sent me a copy via dropbox, but its not there.
                    Let me check.

                        Eh?

Two days after I post some of my own-mooched old tape jingle dubs of WJJD Chicago (12th Oct),
JMW has WJJD jingles on his Rewound show 14th October…?

                        Good stuff, this telepathy lark…!

EDIT:- a most eclectic selection of records on this particular edition I might add,
especially having an unscoped copy ;^)

                            Yes thanks for the link…….
I can’t listen to it “live” as I have to be in bed by 9pm (I have to be up at 4am every weekday)
In Reality…..that’s the time they put us to bed in the “home” ;-)

If it makes you feel any better –that is my EXACT situation on Fri/Sat nights –in bed by 9pm to be at work by 4 am–“misery (does indeed) love company”..:)

Sadly I can hardly ever get to listen live either, which is a great pity because when I did, I enjoyed getting “interactive” on the Rewound Radio Facebook page! So getting these links to listen to the shows after broadcast is fantastic – thank you!

I’ve just caught up on the episode where WPTR jingles were played. As JMW commented .. “nobody was sick on WPTR Day”, implying that all the vocals were top notch. Can you imagine running a radio station back in the day and ordering PAMS Series 31.. only to find out that Marv Shaw was off sick when your cuts were being sung. I’d have demanded my money back :-)

Actually that’s got me thinking … were there any Series 31s cut back in the 60s without Marv in the group???

Can’t answer your question–but to my ears, Marv WAS Series #31!!!..:)

First time listening to Jon’s full show live, but sadly, automation took over at 5:48pm ET (USA) due to technical error (cut off at the beginning of a Carly Simon song). It was a GREAT show though!

Might be the only Sunday afternoon I’ll get to hear the show all the way through live, as usually on Sundays I have other commitments, like grocery shopping, evening church events, etc… I’m only lucky enough to at least get the last 90 minutes of his show in without a scoped recording later on (when available). I won’t give any spoilers away in what jingle stops Jon took this week, but it was a good one!

Don’t suppose anyone has the link to the scoped show last week (21st October)? Really enjoyed the WNEW and Long Island stations on Jingle Time. And a big YAY for the JAM BBC Radio 2 classical cuts from the previous week.
