Listened live yesterday – loved the interview with Cousin Brucie which was so captivating, but from a jingle point-of-view, it was great to hear the “Cousin Brucie’s Oldies Party” JAM custom jingles that I’d never heard before!

That was indeed a terriffic interview–while I LOVED hearing the “established” Brucie jingles used over the years at WABC, WNBC, CBS-FM & XM/Sirius–and the “neverheards” (some of which i heard on “Demos”) were “interesting”, as well–HOWEVER, I’ll be particularly interested in hearing what Jon & Company does to “adapt” some of the “classic” Brucie WABC jingles to the “NEW” WABC Show.

Nope. Cumulus sold WABC to locally-owned Red Apple Media in March.

Looked them up – $12.5 million for what was once probably the greatest Top 40 station on the planet.

At least the guy has so much cash he might be quite happy to have WABC as a “Collectors Item” and keep it “alive”

You’re assuming that they WANT us to adapt the classic jingles. They don’t. Or at least they haven’t asked for that so far.

Given that it’s a music show on a News/Talk formatted station- who knows? I also noticed that in the print ads for Cousin Brucie’s return, under 77 WABC it says “MusicRadio”- interesting. But if Mr.”Cats” is fine with the “classic” Cousin Brucie jingles — so am I !

Now that we’ve woken up from our nap… I never knew John Candy had a radio show, the airchecks were fascinating and the jingles were a lot of fun. Great show as usual.
