      Hello funsters

If you were listening to Jon W’s ‘Jingle Time’ show on Rewound Radio this week, you’ll have heard him set his listeners some homework. In fact, you can hear him do so 4:35 minutes into this telescoped version of the show: https://jingles.com/audio/rr/rewound-20220918-sc.mp3

The question: “What makes jingles interesting or fun for you?”

The task: write a message answering the question and send it to Jon via the Rewound Radio website: https://rewoundradio.com/emailjon.html

Or (roll of drums, please) record it as an audio file (eg using Voice Memos on your iPhone), lasting no more than 30 seconds and send it to rewound@jingles.com. Include your name in the audio and where you’re based.

Deadline: send during the next 10 days.

For me, the appeal of a jingle has more to do with music and harmony than whether it’s Interesting or fun. Just listened to the recent JM submission of the WFLA God Bless The Child cut from PAMS Series 40. It’s not fun and not particularly interesting but it sure is appealing for the same reason the original tune was. The PAMS arrangers captured the magic and dare I say improved on the BS and T melody with their orchestration and vocal blend. To borrow a phrase..The magic is in the music.”

I believe you’re supposed to post it to Jon’s Rewound Radio link or record it & send audio to him–he didn’t say ANYTHING about posting it to Jinglemad.

I understood but thought the topic was interesting enough to start our own discussion here. So, what’s your feeling on Jon’s question?

Thought it was a great show – reinforcing a sense of the community of jingle fans out there.
