Since ‘Tis the season for sharing good tidings, digging through my archives lately, I came up with some things I thought some folks may enjoy and get a kick out of. For those Jingle Madder’s who live in the states, and recall listening to WXLO-99X in New York back in the late 70’s, you may remember Jay Thomas held down mornings there.
This is what his first show sounded like from 9/20/76: https://youtu.be/vGKREE7-sUQ

I was a big fan of Jay’s & fondly recall worming my way up to the station on a number of occasions to visit an engineer friend of mine, who would let me hang out in the engineering booth while Jay was on. It was amazing to watch him work, and my engineer pal was kind enough to dub some of Jay’s drops and some station elements for me, which I forever will cherish.

While Jay moved on and made the transition from radio star to TV Star, sadly he passed on a few years ago, but he was quite the entertainer and his legacy will live on. I thought I would share these production goodies with you folks out there who may remember Jay from back in the day, no doubt you will recall hearing Jay drop these into his show
