It’s Ignite Kiss, but with a different logo, different singer and different vocal treatment… All together it equals a set of smokin’ CHR jingles.

They are different.. I do like the new logo because I don’t feel that every station that is not “KIIS” should be stuck with a KIIS-FM logo. (I’m from LA, so I can say KIIS). I assume they sound better on the air than they did in the demo. I’m just trying to get used to the whole solo vocalist thing. But I am glad to hear another stateside station using Ignite KIIS.

OK, they’re what “goes” at present style-wise; its a solo vocal; they’re laggered with dollops of autotune (vocoder’ed in plain English).

BUT – the clarity and crispness of the vocals is utterly refreshing after so much “current era” over-processing and “shouty-ness”.
Is that REALLY an ENGLISH singer? (…or even “Mancunian” ?!? :^) ) rather than Dallas?
It “leaps out of the speakers” – which I know will surely meet with the approval of even some of the most jaded “old hands”?

A job “well done” by Ignite!

(…and nice to see that some US stations can still think of using the name “Wixy” in their call-letters….. ;^) )

I don’t know if Chris is a member here. (I think he may be, but I also believe he may be overloaded with jingles at the end of the day…) so I’ll fill in some details.

So, a few things about this package that is different. Ignite Kiss hadn’t been done with the z100 logo before, they usually sing the package with a small UK group and use a very different vocal treatment.

This Y100 pack is sung by an American voice because I found the UK accent didn’t sound quite right on my cuts. We tried a couple of different versions and Chris and the whole crew were very willing to work with me through several revisions to get what I wanted. I really wanted a crisp “Y-one-Hun-dread” on the calls, and I wanted a unique sound, one that would mix better with the Pop/rhythm/EDM records I play.

Also, I mostly use rapid fire and shotguns, mixed with VO, and we don’t really do many traditional song-jingle-song segues. I only use it once or twice per hour, the vocoder/auto tune cuts through and a little goes a long way. There is a lot a variety and cool stuff in this package and we’ve just scratched the surface of what we’re going to do with it.

Sadly, most “programmers” today just order the same Reelworld package that is on every other station, with no real thought to lyrics, sound, processing or style. Luckily, I’m in a position to be able to work with TM (and ignite) on each of my projects to get exactly what I’m looking for. A retro sound for 70s/80s Rewind 1079, a different CHR sound that cuts through for Y100 and a rockin country package for Bob 106.9. TMs customer service is excellent, and while I know “it takes time to make things”, I can’t wait months for my jingles.

I worked for one of those country stations that had Reel World One Country jingles. It took a little getting used to, but they fit in fairly well. I would’ve gone with a bit more of a “real country” Type feel, but that’s just me.
