When Radio 1 launched thier new JAM jingles “Britains Favourite” – on the launch day they broadcast this introduction to the jingles by Simon Bates.

Has anyone (more specifically Nicky Schiller !) got a stereo version of this please ?

A clip of a ‘studio’ recording of this Bates presentation was played to us at the Radio Academy’s “Wham Bam – Thank You JAM” session last year. Johnny Beerling’s probably our best hope there I think…

Except that Johnny doesn’t have the possibility to dub any of his reels at the moment and his soundcard is out of order! In other words, don’t hold your breath!!

However, if it was played at the WBTJ event, I expect it first went through the hands of the legendary Howard Hughes for dubbing. I’ll explore that avenue..

              To Sean and Nicky,

how are we doing guys in chasing up this piece of Radio 1 audio ?

Go on (I dare you !) give Johnny Beerling a ring at home – I know you have his home phone number and ask whether he would send you a copy of this Radio 1 treat to share on jinglemad………or what about Howard Hughes – any chance of a copy please ?
