Just heard that Yorkshire Coast Radio have new Wise Buddah cuts in the can, ready to air on July 20th.

Are the whole TLRC stations getting new jingles this month as well?

Following the takeover of TLRC by the UKRD group, I think we have seen the last of the TLRC group packages. I’m told that each individual station is now in control of their own imaging and that the new YCR Wise Buddah custom package has been arranged solely by YCR.

As to other TLRC stations’ getting new jingles, then that is possible dependant on each individual stations decision, but I do not believe that any of them will be getting the forthcoming Wise Buddah ones as these are solely for YCR.

        Maybe somebody can confirm this.

It’s interesting that YCR have got the new cuts ready to air, but there is not even a mention of the package being produced on the Wise Buddah site! Hopefully, Wise Buddah will put up a demo post July 20th.

Now on air with a “Your music, Your Station” tag line.

          Good Time Oldie

Just heard a couple of the cuts, they sound okay to me.

I have always been a big fan of YCR, Chris and the gang all do a great job.

I will be in the Scarborough area for the next four or five days so I look forward to hearing more of the jingles.

If the on-air jingles resemble whats on Wise Buddah's website, then by the looks of it…there are no custom cuts specifically for YCR.

The YCR jingles are from the Canadian 'Astral Radio/EZ Rock' Package…so I guess any TLRC/UKRD station can order them.

I really like the EZ-Rock package from Wise Buddah. The new YCR re-sing is much better than the last couple from Bespoke ('06 & '08) which I didn't really rate (fitting Yorkshire Coast Radio into a package also designed for “The Quay” and 20-odd other stations would always produce varying results.) Judging from wisebuddah.com they're not had all of the package sung though, only 5 of the 9 main Id's.

I'm also sorry to see end of the “You're on the coast” lyric, I liked that, and it's stuck with them for a number of packages and companies. I'm beginning to tire of the increased use of “Your music, your station”.

                  I am confused.

STAR Bristol has this 'EZ Rock' package resung and is nothing to do with UKRD anymore, as they sold it to another radio company

UKRD now have control of TLRC? So.. why would they want to sound the same as something that they have just got rid off?

Forgive me if I am stupid, but it doesnt make sense to me.

All stations now sound the same.
They all all using the same re-sing and the same line ” your music your station”

As someone said on jingle news there is “No individuality anymore”

As one of the ex-TLRC shareholders who gave up and sold my grossly devalued shares to UKRD, there is a policy at TLRC now instigated by the injected UKRD management team there to have each “TLRC” station responsible for its own imaging and various other functions.

Strangely, some of these “independent” decisions seem to be identical!

And that “strapline” (horrible phrase!) has been around for a long time, and definately is stale but stations seem to think that starting to use it for the first time is somehow “fresh”.
