Everyone has those little questions, like 'what ever happened to…' or 'who composed that…'.
If you have any question like this, OR an answer to one of them, please reply!
My question:
I always wondered if the New York 97 Song (JAM/WYNY) was ever syndicated, and if so, by whom… I never heard another version but the one with the 'NYC'-lyrics…Thanks!
April 4, 2010 at 3:53 pm #73344IainJohnstonMemberI'm sure JMW has answered this at some time in the past!
Time for a deep trawl through the JM back-archives…April 4, 2010 at 4:49 pm #73347BarrasTo Iain: I think you`re right but I cannot find it !
To Marc: have you got the JAM CD called “The First 20 Years” ? – the WYNY jingle is mentioned on there…
April 4, 2010 at 7:53 pm #73350MarcMannetjeI have and know the NYC-version of the cut, but the little song never apeared with other lyrics for another market… I think!

April 5, 2010 at 12:39 am #73353StarbrelzMemberWasn't it part of 'Dance to The Music' -or am I thinking of a different WYNY jingle?
April 5, 2010 at 8:01 am #73354MarcMannetjeThanks guys!
I think it was part of New York 97? On the JAM site there's on the fan-page some info about the project, but my specific question is if the song was ever syndicated/resung in another language of for other cities…
April 5, 2010 at 1:22 pm #73356BarrasI haven`t heard it resung for any other station Marc, hopefully Jon@JAM will see your question and give the definitive answer…
BTW there`s a webpage which plays the WYNY jingle and features the WYNY reunion in 2004, including a photo of someone called Tracy Carman !
April 5, 2010 at 1:33 pm #73357IainJohnstonMemberThe WYNY Song came up in a Thread a wee while back…

There is no other versions of it around.
This was explained to me in a previous post.April 5, 2010 at 5:25 pm #73366MarcMannetjeThanks all, I sort of got the impression it was a one of a kind thing, although the song in my opinion was perfectly suitable for other cities/lyrics… Cheers!
April 6, 2010 at 4:32 am #73381JAM / PAMSMemberThe fact is that there are other versions of the NY97 Song, although not many stations ordered the entire thing. Some clients just got particular sections. I recall that we did do the whole song for WVCG in Coral Gables, Florida (although they used quite a bit of the original lyrics to avoid the cost of re-singing it all).
The “one of a kind” thing you might be thinking of is The JAM Song. It has never been re-sung for any other purpose. About a minute of the music track is used under the announcer at the beginning of Classic Jam disc #2.
April 6, 2010 at 6:16 am #73382MarcMannetjeThank's Jon I appreciate this.
Of course no of us know all, as we could see in this thread, but it was fun finding it out all together!
April 7, 2010 at 5:04 pm #73406GlennaMemberSo does anybody have a different remix. ( besides Jon)
April 7, 2010 at 10:09 pm #73411MarcMannetjeThat IS a good question indeed!
April 8, 2010 at 5:05 pm #73422GlennaMemberThe jingle comes as a question or gets [osted around every six months.
You would that a remix would show up. -
