Here’s my latest cuts from Jon which are fab as usual 🙂 A nice mix of 3 cuts, one each from:-

      JAM Meltdown
PAMS BBC Radio 1 custom 1971
      PAMS Country

      Enjoy!

Man, that * yikes * bit hits differently in fabulous Sonovox. As always, JAM and PAMS does it again. 😁

          Interesting choice Dave!

Q1 – is that R1 re-sing actually in stereo? The original was only known in the UK in mono of course.

Q2 – did you get these via the Personal Cuts service?

Cheers Iain, to answer your questions:-

            A1 – not sure, I think so!

            A2 – Yes I did

Great Stuff, Dave. Now my chance for “Question-Time”–

Q-1 Did you order these within the last 3 months or so?

Q-2 Can you tell me what the “turnaround” was between ordering & “delivery” of jingles?

I think the reason may be this…
Jon explained a while back on Rewound Radio how some jingles that weren’t originally in stereo could be mixed into “stereo”.
So, the various musical elements on a jingle were each recorded with a single (mono) microphone onto a separate tape track. In some cases. up to 8 tracks.
By panning those musical elements (to the) left/right, it would appear to be stereo.
I think the vocals were recorded to a single track so they remain in the centre.

New vocals today can, of course, be recorded in true stereo.

                    Thanks for the info, GW

As well as a couple of particular JAM cuts I would still dearly like to get as Personal Cuts, there’s the “Scottish one” (“Hundred Pipers…” to those of us that know the tune its sounds to be based upon…) from the circa 1973 “Across The Nation ” custom

Great choices, and beautifully produced, as ever. Thanks for sharing.
