        Hi,

This brings back a lot of memories because at that time it was a lifelong dream to attend a custom jingle session in Dallas! I even had a bite to eat with Jon Wolfert in the local cafe!

Incidentally, I had to get them to re-sing that particular cut coz I wasn't happy with the way they chromatically sang “Paul Bee-eee-sley”. I've attached the “correct” version that I purchased in the end – which gives my name a much smoother sounding accapella.

Fantastic experience and a treasured memory!

        Paul Beasley

          Hello Paul…

You were 'caught out ' ! !lol

          The singers are so fast/accurate at JAM that if you h e s i t a t e to comment… they've done it !

I thought both versions were great! LOTS of Chris Kershaw in the mix too, as on 'Do It Again..'

            Hello Paul,
I dont work in the radio industry, and dont even claim to know as much about jingle production as most, but listening to your 'You Tube' posting makes the hairs stand up on the back of ones neck. I like to keep an open mind toward everybodys work, but theres no doubt about it, that what you get from these Dallas Jingle houses is a beautiful highly crafted end product. Its what you call good quality gear. Ive listened to some of those JAM and TM demos and in certain markets (ie Radio 2, Smooth, Lincs) If you ran a radio station and bought enough of these things, you could rest certain cuts and re-introduce them with new packages, even mix em together years after, (no one would notice, only anoraks) without them sounding outdated. Its a timeless sound, even if it is little expensive. (a good example would be the KOST stuff ) Just an idea.

Hi again. Firstly it's an “honour” for me to get into dialogue with one “Len Groat” who I have the greatest respect for in terms of his jingles professionalism. Len, were you involved with Great Yorkshire Gold's JAM package of Radio 1 resings a few years ago? They were fabulous. And like you, I was a BIG Beacon 303 fan and collected those powerful Sunshine Jingles. Missing loads of acapellas though! hint hint. Paul

Secondly, to WHISPER. Yes, I am in the process of setting up a radio station on the net – pending the way the licensing laws for broadcasting of music will go? But I will be using the talent from Dallas to promote the station. The jingles are indeed timeless – you're so right about that. Not many people know that the brain has a better memory for music than speech. I can still remember the BBC Radio WM phone number to this day, because of the way the JAM singers gave it the full vocal treatment – 021 432 2000. So, one day, the radio programmers will wake up again and decide their message will get through to people a lot more effectively if they get the station idents SUNG instead! Paul

                  Hello VV

                  Thanks for the compliment…

Ref: Great Yorkshire Gold's JAM package of Radio 1 resings

No I was not involved with those, the last full packages I worked with JAM on were those for Gem and Trent in 1992.

                  Best wishes

                  Len
