Something I would like your help with……….
Im not in the industry, I just appreciate well made audio from you guys in creative and from the various jingle companies out there.
Im a bit puzzled as to the reasoning behind the non use of a fairly recent UKRD package (presumably Steve Englands work?) that Ive found a few cuts from through trawling through various websites. Theyre COOL!
The cuts Ive heard sound extremely well produced! (Well done Steve, its Alfasound AND MORE into the new millennium! )
Can somebody please give me some gen on this?
Any info would be gratefully received!
July 2, 2003 at 6:55 am #23311stacey_harrisI understand it was killed due to a change of management and policy at UKRD – jingles out – voiced sweepers in.
Though you never know – that policy may change again!
Does anybody know if the “Today’s Radio” package has made it to air in the US – somebody mentioned it may have done..
July 2, 2003 at 11:31 am #23312JonnyhThe UKRD package was a joint venture with Steve England and Jon Wolfert. I believe Steve went to Dallas to work on it with Jon.
Unfortunately it was decided not to use it by the UKRD group which must have been enormously frustrating for both Steve and Jon.
However, I’m sure it is being used in the USA.
I’m slightly surprised that it hasn’t been added to JAM’s massive new download page.
July 2, 2003 at 11:17 pm #23313Martyn-MCheers for that guys.
Its a real pity they never made it to air in the U.K. though!
July 3, 2003 at 7:01 am #23314stacey_harrisOne cut made it to air on Eagle Cambridge – (the news in was used just hours before it became Star 107.9)
July 3, 2003 at 10:33 pm #23315Martyn-MReally? How odd. A one off eh?
On the subject of Cambridge, can you advise me if Airforces Experience package was ever used on CNFM? I understand that this package made originally for Piccadilly was also produced for CNFM and although I used to live in that area, I dont recall ever hearing it on air.
Once again your help would be much appreciated.
July 7, 2003 at 11:13 pm #23328mbMemberI asked Steve about the UKRD package when I went up to do some with with him, It took a while to make and Steve Managed a lot of the sessions. I believed that JAM were going to release a demo once it had been resung for a US station. Lets just say that UKRD kept it quiet as they had to pay for something a new management decided not to use.
I think its a great package the nearest to a UK custom version of a classic Z 100 JAM package I’ve heard. I really love it. Every cut oozes quality and depth. And it shames some of the dire stuff airing as on air identification in this country at the moment.July 10, 2003 at 11:36 pm #23336Martyn-MCouldnt agree more, although last time I agreed with you on another forum regarding “plinky plonky” etc etc, it led to someone getting rather upset, so I better ssshhhhh !
July 12, 2003 at 7:56 pm #23343mbMemberHa yes and an official complaint was made – but not upheld so officially they are plinky plonky
heheheheJuly 16, 2003 at 8:11 pm #23353Martyn-MI have to disagree!
Every jingle or ident ever made by any company is brilliant!
Try saying anything contrary to that and just watch what happens.
Complaints to the bosses and threads being closed down.
It sort of makes the whole thing pointless!
Still, you wont get any complaints from me because theyre all thoroughly brilliant!
June 2, 2005 at 8:22 am #24823JingleMadMemberI know that VOA have used this package, any others?
Here’s the complete KLFM version of Today’s Radio from 2001.
