That was the SPIRIT pkg, sung as THE SPIRIT OF TEXAS, for channel 8, I don't recall where that is/ was. The pkg sung for WSYX TV channel 6 in Ohio; sung as THE SPIRIT OF OHIO, the cassette demo was called WSYX TV.

The channel 8 in Texas was WFAA-TV

And actually, this is from when channel 6 in Columbus was WTVN, not WSYX. (They changed call signs that year, in fact, but this is from before then.) This sounds like TM, but it doesn't sound like the Spirit package to me.

If this is in the Spirit package, could you possibly post an MP3 sample to prove it? :)

          I will not.
I can tell you what I have in my collection and what the demo labels say; you can believe it or not.
Should someone want samples, I'll do it privately.

OK, don't want this to turn into an argument. Sorry. :)

In the 80s Dutch broadcaster AVRO used a TM-package called Get To Now Us created for Baltimore 11. The package is huge and contained a lot of short station songs, beds and production elements. The package was available on a special CD series produced by the Dutch Association of Jingles and Tunes. I am not shure if you still can buy the CD. The site is http://www.jingleweb.com .

              All the best!

TM also did WHERE YOU BELONG for channel 11 Baltimore.

The cut, as Joe C correctly (as always) pointed out, is from “SPIRIT” – produced for WTVN-TV in July of 1986. A better example of the cut is at….

http://www.jingles.org/WTVN-TV.mp3 and is located on CD TMCD007 in our master archives.

Thanks, Joe and Tracy. :) You guys are TM specialists. :)

Now, another one which sounds like Dallas, but which I'm not sure is TM or someone else. It's from WEAR in Pensacola, FL circa 1982. The campaign is “3, Clearly Yours.” The sung jingle, specifically, sounds like Dallas. If it's not TM, maybe it's Otis Conner or someone else?

That's a tough one, TServo!! I have many OC demos and I am positive that is not one of his. It may be one that slipped by me. It may even be some obscure independent jingle house OR Toby Arnold.

I don't see WEAR listed in our databases of TM product… and it's complete from 1979-1988. So — I doubt it's TM.

OK, I guess that one won't be solved…:)

On Tracy's reference list, several custom reels for WOI-TV are listed, dated 1984. I wonder…could any of these news themes, which WOI used in 1984, be among them? Some of them sound TM-like…

TM's TV stuff was pretty darned good, especially since it was up against much more polished stuff from L.A. and New York…
