March 19, 2005 at 11:14 pm #15606radioboy949Hey Tracy…
Thanks for sharing The Spirit. I remember when WTVX/Ft. Pierce-West Palm Beach used that when I was in high school. Took me back.
“The Spirit of Florida is alive on WTVX. Come share the spirit with WTVX.”
Man, they ran that into the freeking ground!
Thanks again.

March 20, 2005 at 1:05 am #15607topcatOne last goodie for the day. This is the original MAGIC MUSIC package from JAM. WWYZ was running it in the Waterbury/Hartford market when the format became syndicated. So… WIOF, who picked up the MAGIC format, also picked up the cuts WWYZ didn’t purchase. To me, this is as good as it gets… the angels sing on some of these cuts. Hope you like ’em too.

Thanks for posting so much material. The Magic Music jingles remain some of my all-time favourites, partly because I was in Philadelphia when the first package was aired at WMGK. But everything you’ve posted is really good stuff – many thanks for sharing it.
March 20, 2005 at 6:24 am #15610GingalTracey,
I would like to add my thanks to you for sharing the jingles in your wonderful collection with us.
I have really enjoyed listening to the numerous packages posted here recently, although, I have to say, I am a big sucker for anything with JAM on it (but that’s another story).
Thanks again Tracey, your efforts are very much appreciated.

Over the years, I’ve only had ONE JAM jingle produced for me… and it was from Magic Music I. The pkg, as I said, is still a favorite of mine!

KLIF Dallas, Texas – TM Composite (All Male Vocals)
March 22, 2005 at 4:01 am #15650topcatBack after the 1976 holiday season, PAMS reflected on their prior year’s productions by producing an Auld Lang Syne promo acapella. By this time, in my mind, the body was dead — but hadn’t laid down.
March 22, 2005 at 5:02 am #15651ratnobMemberFascinating, Tracy – I didn’t know this existed.

March 22, 2005 at 2:00 pm #15657topcatHere’s another one of several self-promoting things that CCC, the company that purchased PAMS, put out in 1976-77. The fact is, the product that PAMS was producing at the time was mediocur, at best. JAM, TM and others were making inroads to their clients… and the only ones associated with PAMS making money were the lawyers. This presentation is more fiction than fact… despite the self-serving narration.
This isn’t the place to go into the whole saga of PAMS from the seventies through the nineties. For those who want to know more, you can purchase Don Worsham’s book THE HITS BETWEEN THE HITS: THE HISTORY OF ID JINGLES at http://www.jingles.org

There are a lot of wierd things that exist in the dust pile here. At the end of PAMS, there were a lot of different things going on. I even have a 7″ reel of tape that the bored people left at PAMS used to record the toilet flushing. While they probably thought it was humorous… it was also symbolic of what was really going on. I should put the tape up for bid at eBay. (snicker)

March 22, 2005 at 4:45 pm #15659topcatHere’s a personal cut I had done in December for my brother by Tony Griffin Productions. It’s from The Winning Formula package:
March 23, 2005 at 2:29 pm #15671topcatWhen it rains… it pours. The server that housed all of the audio content I’ve uploaded for the last three months has, ummmmm, been upgraded. During the upgrade, they had to restore my area from a January backup. So… all of the audio files for this thread, amongst others, have been wiped out. I have backups for a few of them, but not all. I just don’t bother keeping the .mp3 files when I have the original source materials.
SOME CUTS HAVE BEEN REUPLOADED THIS MORNING… BUT IT’LL BE HIT OR MISS FOR A DAY OR TWO!
I am private emailing a couple of you fine folks to have you email my “gmail” account the stuff that I’ve posted, so that I can rebuild these files for your downloading pleasure.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but life happens. With a little luck, we’ll get everything back and up in the next day or so.
Thank you,
Tracy E. Carman a/k/a TopCat
March 23, 2005 at 3:06 pm #15672NigeI wondered what happened?
I was happily listening to various jingles and then……..
nowt! Thanks for everything you’ve posted so far TC.
Nige.
March 24, 2005 at 11:33 pm #15691topcatWe have restored all but 5 files that were deleted. Thanks, so far, to Brammy and Barras for all of their help. Hopefully the other five will be available again soon.
Since I’m sitting here in the studio, I thought I’d pull out some classic JAM acapellas produced for my brother long before there was any such thing as a “personal cut” program.

Again – amazing to hear these. TM did quite a few jingles using kids singing as I recall (eg Sesame Street rip-off in MorningMan for Jack Bogart) – but I’ve never heard these before. Many thanks for sharing. Feel free to keep changing the name of the thread as often as you like whilst you keep making such vintage material available!

I intend on continuing to change the thread name as I add new stuff. I wasn’t going to say anything…. but since you’ve brought it up… this thread name will be continue to be changing everytime I add new materials. The alternative is that I will start a new thread everytime I add new stuff… or just start posting the stuff at the http://www.jingleland.com or http://www.jingles.org websites.
I don’t know the Jack Bogart MorningMan cut you refer to… but the first kids cuts I’m aware of from TM were the “telephone” cut from the WBZ 1974(?) package. Those, in the know, will remember the cut started with “Hello Bee Zee, we listen to you….”. It was also relyriced and sung for KDKA starting with “Jack Bo-Gut, we listen to you” and so on. Also, Image ’73 had the holiday cuts (2 kids versions lyrics… “There’s a special magic in the air” and “Time for turkey, dressing and pump-kin pie”). On the 8-track 1″ reduction is the “kids” parts without call letters. In later versions of Image ’73, they’ve usually filled in the call letter segment with full “adult” vocals. I’m sure that rounding up the kids choir to sing cuts was an adventure. I’ll have to ask the ex-TM folks about that. I may have posted some of these in the past… but if not… I’ll post some examples in the near future when I’m poking around with these masters.
Lastly, I hope everyone is enjoying these snapshots in time of some of the jingle companies. I’m trying to post things that are out of the norm. Everyone has heard a million versions of TM’s DALLAS POWER… but how many of you had heard the AULD LANG SYNE acapella from PAMS?

March 26, 2005 at 3:20 pm #15709ratnobMemberYep – it’s the KDKA version I remember … It uses the Sesame Street theme as its starting point:
