In 2014 I made a long jingle montage but there was a problem, too many great Radio 1 jingles were missing.
I decided to go back, completely remix it, add the missing cuts and include LOADS of new, better quality material- a lot of it straight from the masters (before Radio 1 Vintage launched!). There’s no Lincs FM or local BBC this time, just brilliant Radio 1 and Radio 2 jingles with a handful of surprises- including the Dirty Feed jingles and some of my own personal cuts at the very end.
There’s a lengthy write up on the Soundcloud page so I’ll stop writing. It’s exactly 3 hours long so download it (hit “more” and then “download”) and take a listen next time you have some spare time.
Please enjoy: https://soundcloud.com/user-980623173/the-ones-that-got-away

October 3, 2017 at 5:01 pm #102121WelshjinglerThat is one epic montage featuring cuts I’ve only heard on-air but not the studio versions. Well produced (must have taken ages) with tons of jingles, airchecks and, of course, SFX. Definitely a treat for the ears. Brilliantly done, thanks Duncan.

Not had time to hear it all yet but am working through it …
Best wishes – Len
October 4, 2017 at 10:43 pm #102128jonnoMemberWhat a great listen. I’ve had it on this evening and have reached the Radio 2 segment, but need my sleep – so the rest will have to wait ’till tomorrow.
October 5, 2017 at 1:28 pm #102129jonnoMemberFlippin’ heck – John Hoare’s dirty feed jingles.. that’s not just a few personal cuts.. that’s an entire composite package
October 5, 2017 at 3:08 pm #102130DuncanNewmarchMemberAuthorHa, yes jonno. I work with John and spend many hours (in our break, if my boss reads this) selecting and writing lyrics/dirty puns. I’m sure I wrote the “strong language, violence” one. Over the years he’s built up quite a selection and should be in use on his podcasts… soon.

October 5, 2017 at 9:24 pm #102133ratnobMemberThat is simply magnificent. Loved it. Many, many thanks for all the time and effort because, as we all know, it takes time to make things. G

October 12, 2017 at 12:27 am #102151BillyjinglesI’m insanely jealous of you Duncan but at the same time in awe of your vast R1&2 jingle collection. I thorougly enjoyed the montage.
October 12, 2017 at 9:19 am #102154IainJohnstonI’ve been unable to download this whopper of a montage (and several other items of late) from S/c.
The s/c downloader I used to use refuses to work any more, even in F/fox.
Can anyone direct me to a good currently working one please?
Thanks!
IJOctober 12, 2017 at 12:22 pm #102156DuncanNewmarchMemberAuthorHi Billyjingles, pleased you enjoyed it.
The jingle writers and performers are all genius of course, I just edited it all together.
It’s great collecting jingles but if we never listen to them, what’s the point? I created/uploaded the montage, not to gloat but to give everyone the chance to enjoy them in high quality (enough of the hissy old cassettes) whilst respecting those who worked hard to create them.

IJThanks again Duncan. I shall apologise if I’m not supposed to post this but can’t see why not as there are plenty of sites out there that do the same job. Iain, you could use https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com to convert the audio to mp3.
October 14, 2017 at 9:32 pm #102169upsweepMemberjust listened to your 3 hour mix – pure delight
October 14, 2017 at 9:38 pm #102171IainJohnstonThank you to the several JMers who’ve kindly sent me a copy of this EPIC effort by Duncan :^)
I’ve managed the first hour so far – first class effort Sir, and I like your Personal Cut versions of the R1 cuts!
PS – Billy – the Ts & Cs on that convertor site would make even Faust raise an eyebrow! One to avoid I think.

October 18, 2017 at 9:02 am #102190UKJinglesMemberWow Duncan…….
After three weeks of listening I can safely say without fear of contraception THAT was the BEST montage I have EVER heard!Thank You for the mammaries
October 18, 2017 at 8:40 pm #102192m_hodgeyMemberFantastic montage Duncan and not just for all the great JAM jingles included.
Loved hearing all the production bits and pieces in there that I remember fondly; brought back so many great memories of listening to Radio 1 in my childhood.
Many thanks for sharing!
