I don't know what the new jingles are, but I'm pretty sure they are not JAM. PRO had to have been one of the last CHR stations in the country still using JAM, which is a shame in itself.

December 3, 2008 at 4:33 am #63837mjb1124MemberI remember listening to PRO's webstream for about an hour not too long ago, and not hearing any jingles at all. Were they still using the “PRO Choice” package up to this point?
December 3, 2008 at 4:50 am #63838jlehmannThey still were using a couple here and there, but not very often. Their sister station, Lite Rock 105 has been using their custom Reel World package for even longer than PRO was using PRO Choice… I think it's time for a change there now. JAM maybe?
December 3, 2008 at 5:27 am #63839coolntthat's reelworld one.

Thanks for letting us know Jeff but for me as a JAM fan (and every other JAM fan on Jinglemad) this is awful news…
How about a Pro FM TOH cut from JAM`s Backseat Music to cheer us up…

December 3, 2008 at 12:39 pm #63844JingleMadMemberThis is sad news for 92 Pro FM and Jam fans, but happy news for ReelWorld fans.
RIP Jam on Pro FM 2003-2008 The last CHR station in the USA to use jam we will sury miss you.

Don't you Reel World fans have enough? They're used just about everywhere these days. JAM on PRO goes a lot further back than 2003, even PRO Choice guys back further than that. PRO FM has probably been using JAM since the mid 1970s when they first went Top 40, with only a short gap in the 80s when they got the Century 21 package.
December 3, 2008 at 9:56 pm #63857GlennaMemberCODY DON'T LIE.
YOU DO NOT GIVE A RIP ABOUT JAM.December 3, 2008 at 10:02 pm #63860ratnobMemberBad news: Pro-FM not listed on the JAM “now playing” banner
Good news: But lots of other stations are!

I'm only saying RIP to Jam on PRO FM, Not to other stations.
December 3, 2008 at 10:20 pm #63863LenGroatI think the jingle on the aircheck sounds like 1000 other contemporary ones ~ another McDonalds
More importantly, we never had G A P S like that on my stations ~ it's not just the jingles that are going downhill ~ as well as sloppy singers we now have sloppy automation and presenters…
December 4, 2008 at 1:07 am #63868945KBAYguySweeeet! another station realizes they are in the 21st century!!
December 4, 2008 at 3:39 am #63869GlennaMemberStations using JAM /TM know that there are in the 21st century too.
And are doing quite well.
I haven't heard sweeet since high school.December 4, 2008 at 4:59 am #63871jr2479At least they kept the 92 Pro FM logo rather than using a generic RW logo.
December 4, 2008 at 5:03 am #63872mjb1124MemberWell, as much as I love JAM jingles, I have my doubts that they can offer a sound that fits with today's idea of “cutting edge”. Let's face it, the PRO Choice package was heavily influenced by Reelworld, and JAM were on top when they were the innovators, not the imitators. That's not to say that the folks at JAM don't have any original ideas left, but they probably wouldn't gel with what CHR programmers are looking for. Which unfortunately means style over substance. Perhaps they're best off serving stations that actually value melody and musicianship in jingles.
Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong. It's tough to really say for sure, since PRO Choice was the last CHR package they created. And the Fresh packaged proved they could provide an updated sound for AC while still maintaining the same quality we expect from them. So who's to say they couldn't do that for a CHR? I guess we'll never know unless a station steps up to the plate and asks JAM to create something for them. And I'm not getting my hopes up.

I've been listening to various stations in the UK and US recently, many of which use so-called contemporary imaging (ie fast-paced rhythmic tracks, lots of electronic shrieks, and vocalists making a sound of something that Cody prefers us not to mention) … and what has struck me is how they clash with the music. Jam jingles were always designed to flow from a break into music, or between songs. They added fluency to a station. What I'm hearing is quite different and not perhaps as cutting edge as some of their fresh-faced producers may assume.
On the other hand, as I've said before, maybe we should just celebrate the fact that jingles are still a necessary part of station imaging for many programmers (even if those jingles lack the drama, style and pzazz that we used to listen to the radio for).

December 4, 2008 at 3:06 pm #63882GlennaMemberThe Z logo series has been ripped off by a few companies too.
The rw country tracks don't bother me has much as some of their fingernails on the
chalkboard female vocals.January 1, 2009 at 12:39 am #64349jlehmannHere's a couple more of the new Pro FM jingles, as well as some of the new jingles on their sister station, Lite Rock 105. I don't know exactly which package 105's are from, but let's just say they Pro didn't pass the JAM torch over to them, and kbay will love them. At least it's been quite a few years since they dropped JAM, so it doesn't sting quite as bad, lol…

January 1, 2009 at 1:29 am #64350JingleMadMemberThat's RW One AC W/ The Sunny logo and WLIT vocals.
That's RW One's 61 station.
Well, That's very good news for ReelWorld Fans including Mike and Steve Tommas.
January 1, 2009 at 1:59 am #64351GlennaMemberStill NOT as good as JAM.
January 1, 2009 at 9:35 am #64352ratnobMemberThanks for posting, Jeff. I find the melody as catchy as ever. For me the problem is always the lack of clarity in the vocals and the way the jingles rarely mix well with the songs – so you don't get the fluency that really good jingles bring between elements. But I like 'em.
January 1, 2009 at 7:17 pm #64363tvnutboySorry to hear about PRO-FM dropping Jam, they have made a lot of great cuts over the years, but do any of you out there remember this one (Appologies for poor sound quality)?
http://www.4shared.com/file/78484979/751f4e67/92_Pro_FM_NBCTOH.html?dirPwdVerified=641b06e7
Apparantly, they used “Nothing But Class” for a period of time, and now I want to find more, but alas, this is the only cut I can find…unless anyone out there has something?
January 3, 2009 at 12:08 pm #64383MarcMannetjeAs a truly JAM fan I have to be honest: I really like the sound of ReelWorld on Lite Rock 105, it really stands out… The sung part ONE-O-FIIIIVE jumps out. I think I hear the Z100 logo in ProFM jingles. Why didn't they customize these at RW to the WPLJ-92 PRO FM logo?
