Ok it my turn to contribute to the “Off-Air” montages…..
Two people got me “into” Jingles….one was Tony Blackburn and the other was David Hamilton…..
This is an example of the Great Radio that was around in 1976 that caught my interest…..
I’m sure if I was starting off now there is nothing that comes close to it! :(

      Enjoy David Hamilton Spring/Summer 1976….
Incidentally notice at the time they were using both the old PAMS Jingles and the new JAM Package too!

Really enjoyed them Pete – “poptastic mate” !!!

The audio bit I remember from the David Hamilton show on Radio 1 – was his use of the Doobie Brothers song “Listen to the music……” – it was basically used as a jingle with his accapella at the start – sounded good on the radio.

The other thing Pete – the very first jingle on your montage – who sings them ? it`s the same male group who sang the “summer radio on the (dj name) show……..” – and am I right in saying I heard the voice of Rod Lucas in there too ? Rod did overnights at Metro Radio in the 80`s before he moved back to Kent.

The Male Group is actually CHRIS RAINBOW who did a lot of extra Jingles for the Radio One DJ’s in the mid 70’s…U can hear a “summer Radio” montage on my website in the “Radio Jingles” section.
Yes it was Rod Lucas (who I believe at the time worked at BH)

          Pete.
