As I was heading down the A1 earlier – I noticed a change on the RDS for 96.6 TFM in Teeside. Looks like they have become TFMradio – so gave it a listen for a bit, and it seems as they have dropped their IQBeats package, in favour of a Reelworld package. Any ideas on which one it is?

The TFM Radio package is Jones TM – it's on their new demo CD.

“…and it seems ………a Reelworld package.”

“TFM Radio package is Jones TM”

Now you know why some of us think all these
“different” Producers are making product that sounds
the same as that of their “competitors” – they DO
sound the same! (and obviously not just to my
          jaded old ears!)

Wow – it's certainly different to the package JonesTM produced last year for TFMradio's sister station 96.9 Viking FM. Although that package grew on me I've instantly warmed to this newer package for an EMAP 'big city' station due to it having much more of a CHR feel, which is how I think that group of stations should sound.

There's a good range of musical styles without being too obviously based on any individual artists, pluse a nice strong logo too.

Great to hear the news intro with a vocal on it – not something we hear much of in the UK. TFMradio's sister station Key103 who have a long tradition of such practice being one exception. I really hope they use it on air as it's great build up to the vocal, I can almost hear a voiceover “Across Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire, on 96.6 FM and DAB radio.. Today's Favourite Music”.

It's a great strapline to sing for a station that would probably struggle to use a concise geographic strapline. I always felt the last IQ beats package had too much of an empasis on the “96.6”, which is of course only relevant to one group of listeners – so nice not to hear a sung “96.6” here!

Look forward to hearing some re-sings – like radiojingles.co.nr said in the other thread, I can imagine it will be pretty marketabe outside the UK too.

Just had a listen from the link inthe e-mail sent by those nice people at PARK MEDIA :) I think it's great. It sounds fresh and I like TFM Radio as a name. It's better than 96.60 TFM as a strapline :) Nice one Chris and the team ! :)

The instrumentals are excellent but I'm not overly keen on the vocals, they sound a bit dated, particularly on the word 'radio'. Also I think 'Today's Favourite Hits' sounds rather clumsy. But apart from that, it's good to see Emap's financial woes aren't stopping them investing in new jingles, Gcap should take note.

I have to say I love em. Its nice to see they have gone back to the old slogan of todays favourite music. The strongest slogan they had in my opinion.

Nice to see they have jingles too in these days of sweepers.
