      This was always a special episode of his BBC 1 chat show – Radio 1’s 20th anniversary, with the showcasing of the 1987 jingles. The whole programme is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORb60IRhQAY

        Had to give this another upload. One of the best when it came to wit, warmth, and never sitting on the fence.

        Some of the finest jingles from Dallas, Texas to mention his name.

          Another surperb broadcaster taken from us in such a short space of time. RIP Sir Terry.

            About 5 years ago I was conducting a tour of BBC Television Centre in the part of the building Terry called “the concrete doughnut”. A car pulls up and Sir Terry himself walks out. The faces of my delighted tour group lit up and they started to applaud for no reason other than they loved him

              Enormously popular on TV and Radio over the years. His passion for radio and broadcasting was amazing and very precise – If you listen to him on documentaries like the story or pop radio even though its over 25 years old.

                Thank you Robin for the selection of his “DJ cuts” – over 40 year’s worth when one thinks about it.

                Like many BBC presenters, sometimes he didn’t always use every cut done for him, or just rarely;
                or talking over long talk-up ramps/beds to a fixed point wasn’t really his “style” – thank goodness.

                A couple more cuts to top-up Robin’s selection.

                But sadly, in a short space of time yet another one of our “heroes” gone for “those of us of a certain age…”

                  Very sad news indeed.

                  Monday 1 February 2016:
                  BBC1 @ 19:00 – The One Show: A Tribute to Sir Terry.

                    Very sad – I used to hear his voice on almost every one of my school mornings many years ago. A unique talent.
