      Guys ( and ladies )
I’m doing my nut – As you know i’ve got C100 running with jingles from Hot Wired – I need a couple more and I can’t decide cos the lyrics never seem to fit. So I though some of you may want to offer up your suggestions and advice .

The rules are the station can be sung as Classic Hits C One Hundred or just C One Hundred and the sung lyrics could be Classic Hits, classic Hit Music, The Biggest hits of the 70’s and 80’s or classic hits from essex.
I’ll put up the demos at http://www.c1hundred.co.uk/JJ.mp3

      My shortlist so far is:-

KISS 90 Cut 14 Lyrics: Classic hits from essex C100
Ultimate 1 Cut 17 Lyrics: Classic hits from the heart of essex C100
ProChoice Cut 1: Lyrics The hits, the his from essex classic hits c100

any other suggestions are gratefully recieved.

      Cheers michael

You know the lyrics “Classic Hits from the Heart of Essex, C100.” would sounds awesome in the pro choice cut.

I’ll take it that most of the 126 people who read the post and / or downloaded the audio are still thinking – many thanks to Mark H who came up with a real outsider cut.

Probably the same 126 people that didn’t enter the Ken R contest.

The 1FM cut would be my personal favourite out of the three you’ve shortlisted (lyrics fit perfectly), but- I think that the Pro Choice cut would fit best with your existing jingles. The KIIS 90 package is also the perfect choice for a ‘Classic Hits’ format.

I would love to hear this cut re-sung (too rocky?):

Closer To The Music cut 3 – “Classic Hit Music – C100”

I like all three of those :), Everyone like the kiis90 but says they’ve hearrd it too often – I do like the hit after hit cut its a little different. This is why I’ve steered clear of Turbo Z and other Z cuts it would be good but everone has heard them on so many station it doesn’t give me freshness but there \re one or two JAM packages that were underused in the UK that still rock :).

Keep posted guys and as soon as the I get them done I’ll upload some audio :)

But I’m still open to ideas as i try to get one every few months or so :)

Have you considered “The Kit” I have never heard it in the US. I know it was produced by Top Format, so I dont know how much it has aired in the UK, but it is a very versitale package.

Z-World – I Think it’s track 16 – “Frankie Blue” … Very short jingle, but would work well with “Classic Hits – C100”.

Being from the states and not having heard your station, the following suggestions may be way off base for your format. With that disclaimer so noted, I might have you listed to the N2 Effects KDWB package. What I’ve heard those guys do with lyrics is amazing so matching to your positioning statements shouldn’t be too hard.

Another idea is the Reel World WLOL package, which is a classic hits station here and would also fit fairly seamlessly.

Finally (and aren’t you sorry you asked for opinions at this point) there is a very cool package that Reel World put out for a modern AC station in Houston KHMX. What I love about this package is that it stands out so clearly from other packages and I think it would in your audiences mind as well.

I think the key is not to get too caught up in the lyrics you’re hearing in the demos versus what you’re trying to say in your package. How many of us have heard re-sings on packages and go “that won’t work” and yet after a few weeks of hearing the package, the lyrics and music sound fine together. Remember, by and large, the audience is hearing your package for the first time, they think it was created just for your station. They’ve got bills to pay and a life to lead, they’re not focusing on you jingle package unless its really great (which these I’ve mentioned are) or they really suck. I know you won’t create anything that sucks no matter what you do. Good luck.
