Speaking of 102.7 in NYC…Perhaps Jon Wolfert can answer

      Back when WNEW FM changed from its traditional ROCk format, about 4 or 5 years ago(?), they called themselves “the NEW 102.7”. They had two or three “JAM sounding” jingles that sang “The new 102.7 FM” at certain times in an hour. Were these in fact from JAM and were they customs? They were short lived as the station's direction shifted somewhat.

        Joe,

        In November 2003 we did a few cuts for WNEW with the lyrics you described. They were mostly Christmas cuts (from “JAM Christmas Collection” and “Very Nice”). After December, they may have continued to use some of the generic mixouts or acappellas for a while until they decided what they were really going to call the station.

          Many thanx, Jon, for the info 102.7. The cuts were superb and fit in great with the format at that time. Geez, seems like yesterday!
