      Aw Gawd!

Don’t do this to us Duncan – you KNOW that we’ll HAVE TO try and equal what you’ve done there
      – even just with sono from Personal Cuts !!!
      :^)

And this is a motley eclectic but slightly “ego-mix” knocked-together bundle of various sonovox items
              from my hard drives…

I love Sonovox! Thanks for the montages :)
What’s the most amazing for me is that these are harmonies coming out of a (super-) human mouth, that of Jon Wolfert. Try doing that without transducers on your throat ;)
So here’s my (repeat) contribution for those who may have missed it before, from the internet station, MY100. (www.my100.com)

The Radio Caroline Sonovox Jingle in Iain’s montage originally recorded in 1973 by Ken Justiss is still used on Radio Caroline in 2019, still a favourite jingle of listeners and presenters old and new!

bravo PK for adding some actual facts to the thread. ken justiss did all of my work (while with ben freedman). just great stuff. his cuts had BALLS! no whispy whinney tones. ben alexander was also a master at the sono. but that’s it…..

As per my “45 Years” montage above, my first sono was Ken Justiss via MCP (Mother Cleo Productions) of
South Carolina circa 1970, when Ken travelled around studios etc on a regular basis doing accumulated
sono orders using his portable rig.

2007 and he did more for me via Ben Freedman – who gave me all the studio session stuff, warts and all.
The sheer amount of time & effort for even a small bundle of lyrics was absolutely daft – and
almost every “cut” came in several presets and tones, some of which were his “traditional” ones
from all those years earlier, especially the “buzztone”.

No doubt JMW will have a few “daft bits” in his sono sessions too ;^)

                          Happy to give this link…

These days, only other specialists of the “art” of sonovox – JMW himself and Steve England.
(Although an occasional JM contributor from the Potteries did some actually very good “home brew”
ones for me too :^) )
