Well it’s taken a few months this year but we’ve broken a host of (jingle) piggy-banks so are able to add even more great JAM and PAMS tracks to our ‘jingle library’. I believe we have (and use) the largest collection of JAM jingles on any UK-based radio station now!

They are not on-air until May but allow me to first post a new ‘1960s Cafe’ personal cut – I’ve promised myself this Omni Trax classic for YEARS – and it’s turned out PERFECT – what a track, what vocals, what a great transition … and it fits perfectly with Graham Collins post on ‘pretty’ jingles.

If you are on Facebook and a friend of Johnny Beerling’s you will have seen he was reunited with Jon & Mary Lyn Wolfert on a recent trip to Memphis/ Noo Aweleens !

Jon & Mary Lyn flew in especially for the reunion. So today seems a good day to unveil a re-sing of a VERY special Radio 1 jingle, we have JUST received, from the days it was really GREAT

Well spotted Geoff !

It’s the standout cut in the package – and the melody at the end is only for the ‘FKF’ of the ‘KFKF’ call-letters, so ‘GEM Ay Em’ fits perfectly!

The brass and drums on it to me sound like the Right Direction package which I also love…

ah! annagrey putting in some lovely solos here! love it! and yes, this package has been resung! 2 stations i know have had it, or still do have this package in play. WTKM in the Milwaukee WI market, and WLOH in Lancaster, OH. I suppose you’ll be getting the B version for the 4th?

Thanks TyTy – I agree Annagrey’s voice is perfect on so many JAM cuts, yet she can’t even have been at school when JAM started! As the vocal group ages it must be hard to find singers with the amazing accuracy and versatility needed to re-sing so many jingle styles – she’s superb

Our new package is ALL JAM – save for one cut – as well as being bright, and sharp, the brass ‘trail’ at the end makes it perfect to go into a TON of oldies!

Len, is there a problem with the stream when listening via an internet browser e.g. Firefox?
This stream URL was working up until recently: http://173.244.209.143:8130/live; – but now it’s dead.
Via a browser, for me GEM AM wont load on any of the following sites players on the TuneIn, InternetRadioUK & LiveOnlineRadio sites.
Even the player on your own site doesn’t play the stream. The play/stop buttons are “dead”, with only the volume slider seeming to work.

GEM AM currently only works via TuneIn app on android.

Anyone else have this problem, or can provide alternate stream URL?

Fine for me (19:54 UK time) on FFox and even on scabby AOL-UK using the normal names and DNS, and believe me
AOL-UK is extremely fussy about what it lets me play compared with FFox!

DOESN’T work on that stream address you’re quoting though…

This is strange. I’ve ruled out a browser problem.
Because even using standalone program players like RadioSure or TapinRadio with the shoutcast link you provided wont connect.
Hmmm… will investigate this further.
