Ratnob: thanks Geoff!
Martin : “Unless it is possible to jump to the latest post I hope Roy does not merge any more threads”
I don’t think this affects many people Martin ? Our ‘KYGO cut’ has been played 83 times in 24 hours.
Admin: I wonder if there is a setting on the software to show most RECENT posts FIRST not last – it is an option on the software of my old ceramics site – it may just mean ticking a different option box on the software set-up?
Oh, and Happy Birthday ROY !

That function isn’t available for this particular software. However I have just increased the ‘posts per page’ to 100. Previously it was set at 50. That means a discussion now won’t roll over to a second page until after 100 comments. Anyway we’ll give it a try.

June 8, 2015 at 9:18 pm #97921glenI wonder what cut 5 on the New Tradition package remixed for Solid Gold Gem would sound like.
June 13, 2015 at 3:25 pm #97938LenGroatGlen – well spotted ! Track 5 of New Tradition is on my (long) list of ‘wants’.
After venturing into the realms of JAM Country jingles I’ve ‘flashed back’ to the 1960s and PAMS with a cut that needs no introduction!
June 13, 2015 at 4:14 pm #97940RichardVery nice Len! Like the sonovox GEM great another Brilliant PAMS classic!
June 14, 2015 at 12:43 pm #97945UKJinglesMemberAn excellent “re-work” of a True Classic Len!
Is that ending slightly different?
June 15, 2015 at 2:38 pm #97950LenGroatRichard: thanks – I was delighted the way Jon did the Sonovox – he gave us a choice for no extra charge!
Pete: Thanks. I think the end may have more of the track on than the Radio 1 mix – not sure have not got it to compare.
Jon creates AMAZINGLY good quality versions of the old tracks – our Philly Story re-sing had a better quality track than the 1974 one done by the original PAMS!
June 15, 2015 at 4:22 pm #97952IainJohnston“Is that ending slightly different?”
It IS! :^)
I had some KenR PAMS re-sings done years ago, and I know some of the “Hummm!” type endings on e.g. Series 31 did
seem to get SADIE’d out as the very end of the tail would get attenuated by the processing-out of the tapes’ “noise floor”s.On Len’s cut there JMW has disernably added a fresh guy/girl “Hummmmm!” on the last chord I guess to put “body” back into the sound.
(Just because some audio is over 50 years old doesn’t mean it can’t be “sensitively” improved!)here’s what that “tail” used to sound like…
Then re-play Len’s version.
June 20, 2015 at 11:52 am #97976LenGroatThanks for the info about the end Iain!
As our system auto starts the song after the jingle THIS cut is PERFECT – does not clash- as it transcends into many intros/ tempos, songs that come in on vocal.
Maybe every package should have a few cuts that end on non-vocal out…!?
June 20, 2015 at 2:35 pm #97977PKMemberLol, I notice your last post was at 11.52 AM Len.
As 1152 am is also 261 metres, could that be a subconscious cue for some PAMS Metro resings ha ha!
June 26, 2015 at 10:47 pm #97995PKMemberThe version of this jingle on Allan Sniffen’s Rewound Radio in New York has the same ending as yours and Len’s Linden.
Tony Blackburn’s S2Blue Pick Of The Pops version on BBC Radio 2 doesn’t have the same ending.
June 27, 2015 at 11:13 am #97998LenGroatPK: I did not realise that Tony Blackburn’s version of this cut had been sung in Manchester. There is a wonderful irony in that back in the 80s ILR in Britain used Manchester’s Alfasound whilst the BBC used JAM, so for that cut at least we’ve reversed the situation! Tony did of course go to JAM for the vocals on the later Radio 2 POTP jingles, which I understand he was instrumental in saying what he wanted for that order.
Anyway, it’s Saturday so let’s have another NEW re-sing of a 55 year old PAMS cut done this month by Jon and the team, with great vocals. Jon helped with the lyrics, we sang over part that was not sung on the original – and ‘Living Radio’ LIVES again !
June 27, 2015 at 9:26 pm #98000GrahamCollinsGreat result and full marks to everyone involved – look forward to pressing ‘Play’ on that one
July 5, 2015 at 1:56 pm #98045Tracy CarmanMemberGoing back to PAMS Series 31… Cut #16… I was vacationing in Florida when I heard classic PAMS cuts blaring out of my radio in stereo. Remember, these cuts were produced back in the mid-sixties and almost always mixed to mono. I ended up over at WAXY’s studios and dubbed their PAMS reels courtesy of Rick Shaw. In this case, the track appears to be in mono with only the vocals in stereo. They’re still very neat to hear almost forty years after I dubbed them!
July 5, 2015 at 11:17 pm #98048PKMemberThanks for posting the WAXY resings Tracy.
The sung FM added onto the second version sounded a bit uncomfortable maybe?
Interesting your comment about Stereo vocals over a Mono track.
In reverse on the Emison UK re-recorded resings of the TM ‘You’ package done in late 1977, the vocals were mixed in Mono over Stereo backing tracks.
July 10, 2015 at 3:49 pm #98060LenGroatFirstly thanks for the comments on our PAMS ‘Memory Melody cut’!
As we seem to have hit the summer lull on the internet I thought I’d add another of our new mini-package. I based this on a version I heard on JingleMad made for ‘Canada Jim’ James Pearson. Who could resist the “Blah blah blah blah blah blah! It’s been sung ’bouncy and happy’ with a kind of PAMS ‘pussy cats’ for ‘more oldies;’ and it’s ‘Cleansweep’ cut 11 from (of course) JAM !
July 10, 2015 at 4:47 pm #98061DuncanNewmarchMemberOh lovely, good work Len. Really like that
July 11, 2015 at 12:13 pm #98064bland75MemberAnother great JAM resing. Nice one Len.
July 11, 2015 at 3:56 pm #98065PKMemberNice to hear a fun resing of one of the less obvious or forgotten JAM jingle Len.
It reminds me of one of the JAM jingles our friend Jeffery T Mason plays on Jeffro Radio with the lyrics “Less Blah Blah Blah, More La La La”!
July 12, 2015 at 2:27 am #98066CanadaJimGreat re-sing Len!
For those who are interested, here’s my 2015 re-sing (referenced above) which resurrected the cut I knew from Sky Radio NL and ultimately inspired Lens version. The vocal production is quite different between the two cuts…nevertheless they’re both equally stunning;Embedded at https://soundcloud.com/canadajim/jam-creative-productions-cleansweep-11-james-pearson
July 19, 2015 at 10:03 am #98096LenGroatGlad you enjoyed the ‘blah’ cut – to me a JAM classic that I missed first time around!
I always get a few ‘workhorse cuts’ each order that can be used in many places as they are smooth and efficent – the intro can follow speech or music, and they go out mid-tempo. So we also bought a beautiful melodic JAM cut from a heritage jingle package ‘Consistently Coast’ for KOST
Thanks to John Palin who suggested this cut, wrote the lyric, and also got his own version!
August 21, 2015 at 3:13 pm #98298LenGroatAs you may have seen (and heard) we are ‘doing it again’ – 6 new re-sings of classic jingles – the other JAM ones will follow, but we bought a re-sono of one PAMS cut that we got a year ago, with a new middle section, carrying a new phrase we use
August 22, 2015 at 6:56 pm #98320LenGroatNo sooner had I posted that PAMS re-sing than I realised I’d forgotten to post one from the previous package
A re-sing of JAM’s ‘Forever Kool # 8 “Great Oldies – Back to Back KOOL 105”
One of the best, most modern/usable slow-to-fast cuts I’ve found delving into the JAM archives, though I never heard the package until recently!
But what is the intro based on – sounds like it’s from a song?
August 22, 2015 at 6:58 pm #98321RobinBlamiresA loose interpretation of “Strawberry Fields” possibly…
