MemberNice Job!!
I presume you needed to send Jon a phrasing demo along with the lyric?March 2, 2015 at 5:41 pm #97346LenGroat
Iain – well spotted – yes a ‘rare’ JAM jingle package ‘We Love you’ for KHOW Denver. I love the fact the cuts are longer but still varied, the variety of vocals and ’emphasised words, ‘WE – LOVE’…. and lively lyrics
The string intro on the front of the demo is from the Stephen’s cut – a superb track.

Radio-Bloke: Yes I sent Jon a phrasing demo but purely for phrasing as it’s not easy to sing it solo let alone with a group!
Does anyone have this package produced for another station?

Well the ‘Snowline’ in the US has held up the anticipated audio posts on the iJingles topic – I know Kay was stuck in Illinois snow as she posts on FB! So… here is more JAM from our ‘Winter package’ courtesy of Jon & the Team.
I need to THANK ‘Culverhaven’ on Sound Cloud for this. He posted a cut on here recently – the famous:
“Simon, Diane, Rod and June (you)’
https://soundcloud.com/culverhaven/simon-diane-rod-and-june-jingle-from-radio-1
! I’d never heard it before but it’s the best cut in a great package, so I instantly re-lyriced it and ‘We’ve Got It’ ! Hope you like it…

MemberI really like it and Graham’s new early show cut is one of the best I’ve heard for years. Wonderful vocals- JAM’s sounding great at the moment. Len, you’re a master at making lyrics fit.
As far as the original version is concerned, Radio 1 was presented with two versions, “June” (I don’t know if they ever had a member of the breakfast crew called June but that’s what they got) and other introduced as “you”. I know Mayo/Moyles once joked on air that “it sounds like they’re singing June”… they were!

Love it Len. You seem to have a lot of cuts trickling through from JAM at the moment. Are they cuts you’ve ordered in one go – or are all these all one-offs?
March 8, 2015 at 3:29 pm #97365LenGroat
Duncan: thanks. To me it sounds like a jingle that ‘escaped’ from a Z100 package BUT it ‘s got that extra lyric room – kind of like ‘loose-fit’ trousers – I love it.
Spoons: we ordered 6+ to get the lowest ‘per cut’ rate + I always tell Jon there is NO rush, so I know he can wait to record them when he’s got the optimum group for each cut. I prefer knowing they are arriving in stages – many Saturday mornings at 9am I’m here by the pc, finger poised in case! We still have 2 to arrive….

MemberAlways good to hear a forgotten jingle “nugget”!
It’s the same with music, listening to radio can be kind of predictable most of the time. For me, I love hearing a song that has not been played to death, even if it wasn’t a top 10 hit.
Most (but not all) commercial stations are too scared to take a risk these days.March 11, 2015 at 9:50 pm #97383GrahamCollins
Wise words there mate

We’ve almost reached the end of our ‘Winter’ package, so with Spring about to start (!) here’s one we did for our Country show – Tim Rogers did Country on the original GEM-AM in the 80s and 90s, so he deserved a classic JAM jingle to match his show!

Beautiful jingle that I didn’t remember.
Great choice.March 28, 2015 at 11:11 pm #97500DuncanNewmarch
MemberLovely! We had the same track recorded for Lincs FM in 99. The Radio 2 version is one of my favourites. “All over the country…”
March 29, 2015 at 12:31 pm #97503LenGroat
Geoff – thanks !
Duncan – I never knew Lincs had it – I guess it was UK singers though? Do you have a copy?
March 29, 2015 at 4:13 pm #97505RobinBlamires
Duncan himself will confirm, but yes the 1999 package was with Dallas vocalists. It also featured quite a nifty resing of the weather cut from “Forever Kool”
March 29, 2015 at 9:09 pm #97510m_hodgey
MemberLove your latest JAM re-sings Len, particularly the Simon Mayo Breakfast show cut!
The Lincs FM 1999 JAM package was indeed Dallas sung. In case you are interested, the Lincs FM version for the Country Jukebox had a solo male sing on the middle vocal which sang “this is Lincs FM”. This solo didn’t sound right on the original supplied version so it was re-sung by JAM:

I hope Duncan doesn’t mind me posting the audio.

MemberNot at all Mark, it’s saved me a job. I always loved the Radio 2 version so couldn’t resist when the Country Jukebox needed a new cut. Great to hear it’s being used again.

M-Hodgey
Thanks for the Lincs version – I know that early on the MD ‘ensured’ their JAM cuts had UK singers even though the PC wanted US vocals
Clearly the MD finally gave in!
Duncan: it all shows that great jingles are like classic cars – they will always be in fashion for people with discering ears.
ANYWAY : this post is primarily to wish Jon, JAM and all JM’ers…..
…… a HAPPY EASTER!

Here’s a slightly bigger present – a snapshot of the current imaging used on the station – thank you JAM/PAMS !
April 5, 2015 at 10:54 am #97561DuncanNewmarch
MemberLen, I’ve heard that a hundred times but didn’t realise it’s an Easter cut. What tune is that?
April 5, 2015 at 12:48 pm #97563LenGroat
Oooh Duncan – you’ve made me feel old!
It’s part of the melody of “Easter Parade” written by Irving Berlin in 1933. It was in a Broadway musical revue “As Thousands Cheer” in 1933 but is best known from the 1948 Judy Garland and Fred Astaire film of the same title. I’m guessing it’s out of copyright as it’s on the jingle!

We’ve created some new 2015 add-ons to our jingle package thanks to Jon and the team at JAM!
I’ll kick off with one you might not expect to hear: it’s from JAM’s ‘New Tradition’ ! We got this cut as we play a lot of acoustic/soft guitar 70s songs (Join Mitchell, England Dan John Ford Coley) and the gentle rhythm of this cut (and much of the rest of this great package) fit perfectly to flow into music.
I wondered if Jon would use Abby or Annagrey for the solo but was delighted that Cheryl Cleavenger who sang the original was still available! I love the way it goes from delicate on the middle line to the full, almost gospel harmonies on the end… I suspect we’ll be re-visiting this or other KYGO packages later in the year

Oh, PAMS fans – we have not deserted PAMS, we’ve also bought an uptempo classic that I’ll add soon!

Hi Admin
Thanks for merging the topics – I forgot I’d already started a 2015 topic!
I thought merging might be possible as we used a similar ‘chat forum’ software on a ceramics site I ran for 10 years.
There are quite a few threads that could be merged to make it easier to find old topics as they quickly get pushed on to pages 2, 3 or further? The good news is 63 people have listened to the cut already!

MemberAs already posted if we have too many Merged items
The people that read Jinglemad on Phone or Tablet will simply ignore the post as once it goes over more than one page it’s a Pain to follow
We have already saw the problem with IJingles last orders post
Unless it is possible to jump to the latest post I hope Roy does not merge anymore threads

MemberGreat cut, Len, from my favourite country package.

MemberIt’s been ages since I heard Cheryl doing a solo and this is really nice. The KYGO logo is also sweet
June 8, 2015 at 12:09 pm #97915LenGroat
Ratnob: thanks Geoff!
Martin : “Unless it is possible to jump to the latest post I hope Roy does not merge any more threads”
I don’t think this affects many people Martin ?
Our ‘KYGO cut’ has been played 83 times in 24 hours.
Admin: I wonder if there is a setting on the software to show most RECENT posts FIRST not last – it is an option on the software of my old ceramics site – it may just mean ticking a different option box on the software set-up?
Oh, and Happy Birthday ROY !
Len
