Email from SoundCloud today…… So guess this means the JingleMad group will cease to exist soon

      Hey John,
We’re constantly looking for ways to make it easier for you to share your work and connect with new fans. As well as adding new features and updates, we review existing features to see if they’re still beneficial to you.
As we dug into the best ways for creators to connect with fans, we found that Groups aren’t helping creators find an audience as well as reposts, curated playlists, or track recommendations.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to phase out Groups on Monday, August 22nd to make room for future updates. Until then, you can collect, like or repost the tracks you would like to save, and connect with your fellow Group members.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on how we can continue to improve your experience on SoundCloud. Send your ideas and feedback by replying directly to this email.

What was the old quote by some Roman general 2000 years ago?

Once again, today’s “bright young things” think that to improve something they have to do away with
the very things that make their “product/brand/experience” (and other stupid ad-speak) actually any use.

And have the temerity to ask users to suggest what would “improve” it – but they can’t just leave well
alone – its just like supermarket shelf-churning.

People don’t like “exciting, new … whatever” change/change/change – they like stability & reliability.
Only those who need to justify their existence want “vote for change”.

Jonno – do we have any clarity on whether our “individual accounts” will still be extant and continuing?

But beyond that – time for us all to try very hard to help support TC get his server-access system developed
        :^)

Soundcloud is for sale… some say it’s worth $1 billion (with a B). Imagine how many radio stations I could buy with that much money.

That’s wishful thinking – I rather think it will go the way of Friends Reunited – passed around until someone admits they paid too much and pull the plug.

Sounds like a plan. I’m traveling all around the US this next couple of weeks, so it will have to wait until I get back home mid-month.
