he also did part of the vocal on the 'start your day with music and news on signal' jingle.
i will upload both cuts later if no-one else has in the meantime.

they are in the downloads section as i submitted both ages ago,but i found that a lot if not most of the links are now dead.

You can try this link out Len. Plenty of those great jingles from Alfasound.

Len – I have the 1983 and 1985 packages (in full I think).

I'll email you directly about them :^)

With having a 4hr flight to contend with on my way back from Kos,I had the chance to listen to Clifford's work both for Trent and Signal, and his singles “Home Thoughts From Abroad”,”Gaye” and “Scullery”.

I even had the chance to listen to the Trent 10th Anniversary Documentary,of which there's a small clip of Clifford being played by (I think) Steve Merike. And don't forget what Len posted here in an earlier thread..

“A personal memory is that I was able to request Clifford T. Ward for solos on a package; such a fragile, haunting voice. When he heard a cello based, slow track play he proclaimed 'I want to sing on this , I love cello!' . I explained the cut WAS based on his 'Home thoughts from abroad' song.”

And if you're unsure of Clifford's work…try these for size…

                  THANKS

for the great response to this topic

                  and the emails!

CTW had SUCH a clear, NATURAL English voice .. no affected vocal mannerisms, or Americanisms (though those can be good on American jingles…)

It also led me to see the Home Thoughts vid on YouTube.. very sad to watch now.

The Signal solos CTW did are just so good ~ though we realised when he sang the Trent solos that he was not confident of his voice ~ we let him improvise the melodies (much to the chagrin of Alan Fawkes) but he kept this customer very happy with his work.

I have a pic of CTW with the 3 female Alfa singers, if I haven't posted it before I will soon!

check out those excellent 1987 phoenix jingles too.
does anyone have the full package complete with the various resings of these?
                    (even montaged together – i don't mind).
                    thanks.

those are the phoenix ones i was referring to.
i remember lee finan teasing listeners playing them the day before in his evening show.

but i was sortta after a bigger selection/variation of the jingles (alternate mixes and resings).

I loved the one he did for Trent that went Much more than words much more than music. One of my all time faves that.
I will have to play some on the wireless tomorrow now!
