But isnt that the fault with todays radio we dont go for quality we go for how little it costs…How much money can be saved isnt the answer a product should no drop in quality..
So we have people who invest in a radio station ..they want their £££ share at the end of the year..little spend goes on the station , little spend on the jingles, little spend on the presenters, little spend on the studio equipment they buy a copy of a great piece of kit ,little spend on Pr unless it has a sponsorship angle…. and they say adverts are slow coming in.. If the products right and its for the listeners then they are doing the job right
Isnt that what Caroline and Radio London wanted when they settup the stations in the 60's quality radio stations playing the right music for the right group of people..I know this moving to radio thread..but as people have said on this forum the jingles dont blend with the music on the demo or the stations output at UTV
We could say the same about GMG their jingles dont match the quality of the music on the station
May 17, 2008 at 6:41 pm #59400radio_blokeMemberThere is one other point, not related to the quality or the source of the jingles, I get the feeling that jinglecraft is no longer taught. The music is scheduled by a pc (selector….or similar product) and the jingles are just dumped in! when was the last time you heard a transition…be it tempo or texture that actually worked? I know a lot of stations simply rotate jingles on a mini playlist just the same as the “A list” is rotated.
No wonder there are so many sweepers out there.June 1, 2008 at 8:44 pm #59737rickiI love this package.
June 1, 2008 at 10:21 pm #59738JingleMadMemberI like the package and I can listen and enjoy the workmenship of the jingles , I dont think they work with the station music format.. plus the singing voices are wrong.. a jingle package was always craft ,now anyone can voice a station package gone are the “Classic jingle voices” that made every station sound big on air
