      Thanks

Here we go again, i know the topic has been buried like three years.

Actually no fuzz about using SWF or shockwave files as formats for jingle demos used at jingle cos websites such as TM, N2Effect, and Reelworld and IQ.

i still remember, about two years ago, when i grabbed the KISS Seattle full demo, and was surprised it was an SWF, and found myself screaming, how am I suppose to listen to this shit!

                to martin:

                1. you can purchase SWF extractor for better results or make it the best!
                2. winamp 5 supports SWF, so if youre up to just listening to the cuts, why not?
                2. you can use Audition or CEP, they support shockwave formats, just for the listening pleasure only, but if you try to edit them, or edit together for a montage, the software will prompt you of changing the sample rates, i dont know what the hell is that. but if you try, you’ll lose the quality.
                3. or better yet, open the swf in CEP or Audtion, and SAVE AS a .wma format. playable, in many players, but relatively a larger size and a not so good audio quality.
                4. if you want MP3 , tip #1 is the best.

N2 Effects’s SWF jingles dont work with Cool Edit and aUDition, they just distort the whole thing, you cant even play it with winampp. but the best SWF jingles are from IQBEATS, they’re so kind!

I dont know if RW still use shockwave format.

I think the reason why jingle cos use SWF, aside from what Steve said which is creativity, is that, it’s a relatively small sized file and easier to stream!

                Gotcha!

im thinking about using SWF too in my montages! and eventually use flash players on the site, great idea?!

or if your OS is Windows, try flipping your folder options, go to Tools, Folder Options, and click the View tab, tick the Checkbox for Hide Extensions for unknown file types.

                    and vualah!
