Just going through some cart boxes, most cream crackered, but one or two gems surfacing again.

here we have 2 cuts from Picadilly Radio carts, one sung, one a kiddy theme. what package is the sung one from?

and the classic “Great Yorkshire Gold” EastNews cart which I have had since GYG closedown – this cart had 2.28″ between the main jingle and catch-up theme, obvioulsy I’ve taken out the silence!

      Enjoy!

Thanks David, especially for the Piccadilly sung cut which is great. I think it was originally aired before my time, do you know which year though?

I did hear the cut being played on air for one of Piccadilly’s anniversaries (20th/21st) ages ago now. The DJ I heard playing it, James Stannage, commented that he remembered using the cut the first time around, making him feel very old!

The Piccadilly Jingles are the Steve England cuts and I think they aired sometime between 1978-1980 when the “Nobody does it better jingles” came into use.

The Piccadilly cut was indeed used up to the intro of the Nobody Does it Better jingles in (I think) late 1981, though it sounds slightly different to the way I remember it. Perhaps it was re-mixed, or maybe my memory lets me down? Anyway, it was one of my favourites from the time – nice to hear again!
