MemberI don't remember that “Smurf” thing John – and I think that no-one replied because its not really a “radio ID jingle” as such, more a chopped-up “home-brew” effort?
However, the proper Scot FM jingles are “out there”
e.g. I've a CD demo copy of the JAM ones which you're welcome to a dub of if you want.Someone (can't remember who) possibly mentioned having a copy of the TM(?) ones a while back – those had a logo that was derived from the old 77WABC PAMS one.
Possibly someone could identify the original TM package or say if the Scot FM audio is still available somewhere?

MemberThanks 789 – you were definately having “finger trouble” in that earlier post!
I very much doubt that you'll find a copy of these home-brew “promos” as people used to call them, especially “in the clear”, unless someone that used to work on Scot FM has them and is a JM poster. They're not “ID jingles” as such, so its rare for anyone to actively collect them but there are a few punters out there that do – usually mostly for stations Down South though.
I'll email you that other audio later (if I can find where the demo CD went!)

MemberAh! “Auld Mrs Galloway – she's 89 you know”
The ONLY radio wind-up character that doesn't cause harm, offence, or having people risk heart attack or stroke! And even available to buy on CD.
Watch your inbox tonight or tomorrow John for some ScotFM ID jingles.

If my memory serves me right, the original cuts for Scot FM were done by HLC – which are somewhere lurking in my collection…
Will have to dig them out over the next 48hrs or so…

Or like my e-mail account (10Mb) you may be limited in size, so gets bounced – might explain, if you never receive expected e-mails

Yes – I was trying to convey an image of a grumpy old Scottish git warning off any chancers and bampots!
Mr Paterson's completely ficticious character seems to fit the bill of such a “bogeyman” nicely! (I will change it back to something more civilsed when appropriate!)EDIT >>> we ARE talking about the mail address that you've published below on JM aren't we???
November 9, 2007 at 10:19 pm #54150789

Deja vu for me again, in 2005 in “Barras Montages” I posted the main cuts for Scot FM and Clyde by HLC. Some interesting replies about HLC including this one from Joe C – this is what he said…
HLC stood for Hicklin-Lubinsky Co., Lubinsky being Joseph Lubinsky, a real creative force behind HLC. Gary Owen narrated many of the early HLC demos (capabilities reels). “Shameless Perfection” they dubbed themselves and rightfully so.
I met with Dane Blair about 1989 or 1990 and met Ron Hicklin himself. My comments about HLC: they seemed a direct descendant of Heller Hamilton and filled the void perfectly. They were quite pleased.
joe caronettiFor those interested, check out pages 11 and 12 of “Barras Montages” here`s the link to page 11…
