Leave the antenna where it is, this is what I call a “proper” aircheck, complete with the punch of FM and a little bit of hiss in the background…good one Mr Carman !
TC – Thanks for posting these airchecks! I aircheck right off of the processor in the engineering rack in Bloomfield, and don’t have the benefit of hearing what it actually sounds like “on the air”. From Bloomfield, the audio then goes to Meriden via T-1 line, where it goes through an Exciter which gives it that extra “punch” that Barras refers to.

You’re welcome, Ron.
I’m taking it off of the air through a SONY receiver into a Analog-to-Digital box so that it can go into the Dell notebook via the USB port. It’s then recorded via AdobeAudition onto a 1TB external hard drive. If you want copies of the unscoped airchecks for your archives, let me know.
Best,

August 10, 2012 at 3:30 am #85804dianablanton1984MemberJust an update: According to what I have seen on Facebook, I’m afraid that the DRC-FM webstream is now geo-locked, and not accessible outside the U.S. I’m afraid the only way you guys will access Rockin’ Ron now is via YouTube scoped airchecks…
If anyone can confirm this, that would be appreciated.
August 10, 2012 at 3:49 pm #85812bossjockMemberDiana, it certainly appears that the stream is now restricted. I get….
“This streaming radio station is a U.S. based audio transmission. We apologize, but we can only support U.S. based transmissions at this time.”
….when I try to logon via my PC, but strangely, I can still stream it on my Android Smartphone (cellphone)August 10, 2012 at 4:18 pm #85815bossjockMemberI’ve just had an email from Crystal Media Networks technical support……
“Our systems are being upgraded and you should be able to hear the WDRC stream early next week (Monday or Tuesday). We apologize for any inconvenience.”
…..panic over Phew!!
August 10, 2012 at 9:25 pm #85827dianablanton1984MemberThanks for the update, bossjock. Now, I think the reason you’re still getting the WDRC stream on your cellphone is probably from the direct stream link that was provided earlier in this thread–bypassing the stream page altogether. Just a thought.
