Regarding the May 5th broadcast, can anyone clue me in on the production source for a contest element that Rockin’ Ron Sedaille introduced at the 11:08 mark in the YouTube video? In my opinion, I much preferred the “Fun Dial” jingle instead of that timpani drum roll…

the touch tones are from the la airforce which may also be where the tymp can from.
I’d say the record version as the the typm is pretty muddy.

Hmmmmm… Lou, I believe you when it came to the touch tones, but I’m not sure about that tymp coming from LA Airforce. While I am not familiar with their work at all, I’m certain that they didn’t provide that tymp stager. Just how Rockin’ Ron got ahold of that production element is beyond me.

By the way, that tymp scared the HECK out of me! :-ss

The LA Airforce cds and or lps were a staple of any production director who had to create from thin air different stagings..they had tymps, off key singers, countdown stagers all sort of stuff.
Hopefully Ron can enlighten us…

Uh, Lou, I wouldn’t ask Ron to profile LA Airforce’s stuff for clarification, nor will I want that tymp stager to be profiled in the clear here! It just so happens that I went to the Radio-Mall website this morning, and listened to the demo of the 3-CD set “Cheap Radio Thrills.” According to the demo, it did include the touch tones you mentioned, so…. I guess I owe you an apology for my uncertainty of that tymp being from LA Airforce.

I can’t even have Cheap Radio Thrills in my personal collection; I’m just a “light” jingle collector and in my understanding that 3-CD set is for radio use only…

I think this is one of the most recent custom cuts from JAM for that station. I think I also heard it online while Floyd Wright was doing the Drive at Five request portion of his show. I can’t really confirm that though…

Good question Chris – I liked that bed too. I think I can hear the CBS-FM logo in there so I’m guessing it’s part of their latest JAM package. Hope so, it’s great !

Sent Ron an email earlier today and he has just confirmed that it is from the current JAM package and is labelled ‘listener bed’ on the station play-out system.

Rats – it means it will be years before I get to hear the whole thing in the clear !
