May 17, 2012 at 4:59 pm #84205dianablanton1984MemberRegarding the May 5th broadcast, can anyone clue me in on the production source for a contest element that Rockin’ Ron Sedaille introduced at the 11:08 mark in the YouTube video? In my opinion, I much preferred the “Fun Dial” jingle instead of that timpani drum roll…

(I’m not asking for a dub of that timpani, by the way; just wanted to know the production source…)
May 18, 2012 at 5:04 am #84215loujosephsthe touch tones are from the la airforce which may also be where the tymp can from.
I’d say the record version as the the typm is pretty muddy.May 18, 2012 at 2:56 pm #84220dianablanton1984MemberHmmmmm… Lou, I believe you when it came to the touch tones, but I’m not sure about that tymp coming from LA Airforce. While I am not familiar with their work at all, I’m certain that they didn’t provide that tymp stager. Just how Rockin’ Ron got ahold of that production element is beyond me.
By the way, that tymp scared the HECK out of me! :-ss

:-bdMay 19, 2012 at 3:44 am #84226loujosephsThe LA Airforce cds and or lps were a staple of any production director who had to create from thin air different stagings..they had tymps, off key singers, countdown stagers all sort of stuff.
Hopefully Ron can enlighten us…May 19, 2012 at 2:07 pm #84230dianablanton1984MemberUh, Lou, I wouldn’t ask Ron to profile LA Airforce’s stuff for clarification, nor will I want that tymp stager to be profiled in the clear here! It just so happens that I went to the Radio-Mall website this morning, and listened to the demo of the 3-CD set “Cheap Radio Thrills.” According to the demo, it did include the touch tones you mentioned, so…. I guess I owe you an apology for my uncertainty of that tymp being from LA Airforce.
May 21, 2012 at 6:37 pm #84247loujosephsNot to worry I can probably get the answer from the afternoon guy at drc fm, who I used to work with in college..
LA Airforce is great go to stuff..every production geek show have them in his kitMay 21, 2012 at 9:34 pm #84248BigdaveBig Dave Nightingale got namechecked in there!

I can’t even have Cheap Radio Thrills in my personal collection; I’m just a “light” jingle collector and in my understanding that 3-CD set is for radio use only…
OK, back to the subject of Rockin’ Ron…

Looks like Rockin’ Ron now uses the tymp stager for contests now, near the end of the video. D’OH! #-O
May 24, 2012 at 6:02 pm #84285glenIt amazes me he actually doesn’t have a board op!
June 13, 2012 at 8:09 pm #84708chrisradiogreenHi, does anyone know the source of the bed Ron uses at 2.52, on the May 12 broadcast please?

I think this is one of the most recent custom cuts from JAM for that station. I think I also heard it online while Floyd Wright was doing the Drive at Five request portion of his show. I can’t really confirm that though…
June 13, 2012 at 8:35 pm #84710GrahamCollinsGood question Chris – I liked that bed too. I think I can hear the CBS-FM logo in there so I’m guessing it’s part of their latest JAM package. Hope so, it’s great !
Shazam doesn’t recognise it…..
June 13, 2012 at 10:44 pm #84721GrahamCollinsSent Ron an email earlier today and he has just confirmed that it is from the current JAM package and is labelled ‘listener bed’ on the station play-out system.
Rats – it means it will be years before I get to hear the whole thing in the clear !

dianablanton1984, thanks for mentioning the Radio-Mall website, I wasn`t aware of this website and I`ve found it a very interesting read.
Here`s the link to the Cheap Radio Thrills demo narrated by Howard Hoffman “who ?”…
June 14, 2012 at 11:02 pm #84748dianablanton1984MemberBarras: Thanks for sharing the Cheap Radio Thrills demo, although you really didn’t have to do that….
Chalks: I KNEW it sounded like JAM when Ron confirmed the “listener bed” was part of the package. I liked it too!

July 21, 2012 at 5:45 pm #85486TurnToStoneI am off on holiday where my internet connection is so poor that I can not listen to the show tonight and also next Saturday. Could anyone be so kind to tape the show and store it as an mp3 file so I can download it from somewhere when I will be back on August 1st? I would appreciate that deeply.
Greetings
