So the montage bug has spread to Manchester as I present my first (and hopefully not last) jingle montage…
Jingle Montage #1 – JAM In The UK 3.94 MB 3.94 MB
As the title says it’s all JAM, and they’re all from UK stations. Hope you like it, let me know what you think…
November 20, 2004 at 2:32 pm #14399ratnobMemberSounds great, Rob. I’ve always collected jingles from American stations, so for me it’s good to hear such a range of JAM cuts made for UK stations.

Some new ones on me there which is always niceNovember 21, 2004 at 9:58 pm #14415MartinSNice mix Rob.
Like the Breakthrough Cut 1 on the end. That fairly recent MOJO Radio re-sing is an example of the ongoing usability of a great package.
Rock FM, TFM, Sun FM, The Pulse, Essex FM – heard all of those UK versions before the oiginal one done for WPLJ. Must be more UK examples!
Martin.

Martin, you’re right about the ‘Breakthrough’ package sounding great even today, in fact those MOJO re-sings are possibly the best I’ve heard. Listening to the vocals side-by-side with the WPLJ originals you’d never guess there was a 15 year gap between them. MOJO also have a great re-sing of my favourite cut from ‘Non-stop Power’. Hope that they appear within the trading community soon, the demo on Steve England’s site is poor quality.
While I’m here can anybody tell me what package the ‘Toolan In The Morning’ cut is from. I know I have the demo somewhere as I’ve listened to it before, but can’t find it now!
November 21, 2004 at 11:16 pm #14420RobinBlamiresThat cut is “almost” from the “It’s Nice” package as on the original demo there is an extra tag on the end.
November 22, 2004 at 8:51 am #14426jkubiakGreat montage! I liked hearing the KDWB cut from the 80’s sung for Star FM. I also really liked the mojo radio cut at the end. Driving around the US I still hear breakthrough on a lot of Hot AC stations even today. It will take a lot to kill that package.

Just listened to the “It’s Nice” demo and I think this cut is one of those rare examples of the re-sing sounding better than the custom! The lyrics seem to fit much better on the Key 103 version.

Oddly enough, the best Breakthrough resings I’ve heard were for a country station. They sounded great on KMLE (Camel Country 108) Phoenix.
November 22, 2004 at 11:43 am #14432BarrasThe TOTH Breakthrough montage I made earlier this year features 16 cuts and at number 6 is KMLE.
