With summer fast approaching, I went searching for some great summer jingle montages. Alas, it appears that all the posts from years gone by are no longer active. Could I appeal to some of you who have posted before to re-post or if you are really ambitious make some new collections.
May 16, 2018 at 9:00 am #96278IainJohnstonWith pleasure Sir !

OK, I compiled that in 2010 (tempus fugits…), and it shows that in these days of “Groundhog Day radio” the
era of e.g. the UK’s Alfasound doing “seasonal” variants of a cut, or JAM or PAMS doing “summer cuts” or even
when the original TM Productions would do a classy mini-package such as “Summer Six-Pack”, are sadly long gone. All feel free to turn it up loud in the car “with the windows open, you no longer need to feel embarrassed!”
as the old JJ McKay (?) sweepers on the Channel Islands’ Island FM used to say!IJ
May 16, 2018 at 3:18 pm #96279teachercreatureThanks very much and a special thanks for not mucking things up with compression (ala our old friend David Barras)
May 16, 2018 at 4:52 pm #96280IainJohnstonYus, no audio compression, just a light digital simulation of analogue reverb to help blend the elements together
(e.g. JAM Breakthrough Clyde One into the PAMS WWDC custom “Summer” non-series cut).May 17, 2018 at 6:04 pm #96205IainJohnston61 plays, and on private setting “exclusive” to JM at that.
So some people at least have listened to the audio I put up, even if no-one else has posted comments
or any if their own existing “back catalog” of appropriate “Summer” audio as per Michael’s request. So maybe even an “OMM” or two perhaps for him ladies & gents, even if its not a full-blown
30-minute mega-blaster?May 19, 2018 at 11:12 am #96139IainJohnstonThank you for the appreciative comments off-forum for my Summer Montage!
So, who else would like to contribute?
May 19, 2018 at 6:24 pm #96140LenGroatI virtually live on the computer so can’t make a montage – but some of our BEST !

“I virtually live on the computer so can’t make a montage”You don’t have to have the most sophisticated audio software stuff for that Len – I STILL use
a £6-99 package that admittedly doesn’t replicate what JAM or TM have in their studios – but
it doesn’t have to!If you want a “for educational purposes only” copy, just shout!
May 20, 2018 at 3:43 am #96134teachercreatureThanks to both of you. Enjoyed all of the cuts.
May 20, 2018 at 10:25 am #96091LenGroatHi Iain
It’s not the cost that’s the problem, it’s my creaky fingers + eyesight after 1000s of hours running GEM.AM !
Thanks for remembering the ‘lemonade’ – I thought a perfect summery track from Alan Fawkes
+ solos from the Alfa singers and Mike Collier, and you can hear the great Jackie Dickson in the vocal group
May 21, 2018 at 10:39 am #95924Tazman1966Not forgetting the glorious Chris Rainbow personal cuts for the Radio 1 guys!
May 21, 2018 at 7:28 pm #95911IainJohnstonChris Rainbow also did the exact same items for many ILR stations beyond London!

Do you have any of these Iain?
I thought the “Summer Radio” Jingles were exclusive to Radio One…..June 13, 2018 at 9:31 am #92858martinlesterMemberChris Rainbow also did the exact same items for many ILR stations beyond London!

I thought the “Summer Radio” Jingles were exclusive to Radio One…..I agree with Pete, Never heard the Summer Radio for anyone other than Radio One
So if anyone has some examples would love to hear themJune 13, 2018 at 10:48 am #92847PKMemberSean Martin has his own version of this jingle resung by Chris Rainbow
June 13, 2018 at 1:43 pm #92848gameswizardMemberI’ve not heard any ILR variants of the “Summer Radio” jingle at all.
After saying that, of the Radio 1 DJ versions, I’d only heard Peter Powell’s used a few times on air (between 1984~1988).June 13, 2018 at 4:34 pm #92849UKJinglesMemberSean Martin has his own version of this jingle resung by Chris Rainbow
Sean and I have the jingle sang by the TM/I-Jingles Singers not by the late great Chris Rainbow…..
June 13, 2018 at 4:46 pm #92820DuncanNewmarchMemberWould like to hear your version Pete.
JAM did their own version of the jingle for Radio 1/Phillip Schofield of course.June 13, 2018 at 5:30 pm #92821GrahamCollinsI always liked what Chris Rainbow did in the early days for Capital Radio in London – although I’ve never heard the ones with seaside sound effects in the clear:
1. Capital Radio brings you the sound of the summer sunshine….. (seagulls SFX)
2. It’s a Capital Summer – cool those hot summer days with Capital Radio…… (repeat and fade with SFX waves crashing)Anyone ?

JAM did their own version of the jingle for Radio 1/Phillip Schofield of course.Original and “re-mix” uploaded (I think the “re-mix” was done by Sean Martin)
June 13, 2018 at 9:04 pm #92743GrahamCollinsYes Pete they are on that album but in a montage, not in the clear and no SFX – presume Capital added these later. There were also shorter edits that actually aired.
