real radio/century radio jingle package 2008 by bespoke music do we have a demo anywhere does anybody know about it a demo or any cuts from this package
January 15, 2008 at 5:24 pm #55817GazzaThe Real imaging is sounding rather tired now & I personally wouldn't have bothered with the 'new' resings for Real, just had the Century stuff done as the existing Real package.
Perhaps the Century name is on borrowed time now, & GMG are waiting for it to be retired before rolling out a completely new imaging sound for the extended Real brand?
I hope so.Iain, what's with the new user name ?! ?!

January 16, 2008 at 11:52 pm #55851JingleMadMemberwhy is a big radio group happy to use basic jingles and poor singers … ok the group wants to stand out from the other stations but they are now sounding like hospital radio who also use the same jingles ……..
I'm sure there are jingle companys around the world gmg could use to gain their own on air sound for of a group Station ID package
Like T m. or Aj's new company.. the music on smooth is easy on the ear ,but bespoke are poor next to these classics , and they dont match the classic hits of Century

I would dissagree with your statement that the jingles are basic with poor vocals. What you need to remember is that Real Radio were one of the stations to bring Bespoke jingles to the fore, for the first time in Wales then in the other TSA's. The sound to me is unique and no other company sounds similar IMO. Ok they are English jingles, and lets face it we cant do them as well as Dallas but they are good quality.
In respect of Hospital Radio using them via the likes of Devaweb, so what ? I commisioned re sings of BBC Radio Northampton for my home hospital radio station a few years ago and they are still sounding fresh today. We considered the likes of JAM and at the time TM Century but it was felt these sounds were to ” sweet ” and ” sickly ” by the rest of the committee, hence our decision to go with Devaweb. Just becuas they are ” affordable ” against the likes of the Dallas producers doesnt mean they are any the less quality. Because they are used on a growing number of hospital radio also doesnt mean they are poor quality, quite the opposite IMO.
As for getting their ” own ” sound all the Real packages so far have been ” custom ” produced and are therefore unique to Real. Only recently did their first package become available for resings. So I think they already have their sound !
Sure TM & JAM have their place and on experience and vocal ability the guys in Dallas have it, I dont doubt that but just because a station / group of stations doesnt go for the Dallas, should they be critisised for it ? No I think they were bold to do what they do.
February 24, 2008 at 1:12 pm #56898southmcr33Think you'll find it was Keri Jones (star of An Island Parish on BBC2!) who first got Bespoke any proper commissions. They did Valleys in Wales for him, then some of his SW RSLs before Quay West. Northampton was Bespoke's first BBC package – Keri even worked on lyrics for those.
Then they did some other BBC stuff.
Then GMG leapt on them for Real.Sad to say their stuff's really gone downhill. The Real logo is obvious, the production on the sing is cheesy – and the Centureal Radio version particularly sounds like a friday afternoon job IMHO.
February 24, 2008 at 7:27 pm #56907theniceguyYou can find more Bespoke packages at http://sob.nl/pages/jingles.php who resings them for europe except uk.
