New jingles have started today on the Real Radio network in England, Wales and Scotland.
Have a listen and let us know your thoughts – they've been on-air just a couple of hours already.
Cheers

June 13, 2011 at 10:05 am #79301DJDaveNot sure on these, this not music 4 anymore? bit century sounding again but that now sounds dated.
June 13, 2011 at 10:08 am #79302IainJohnstonMemberI also immediately thought "back to the Bespoke style" – similar sort of beat in the backing tracks (but Gawd, please, please, not "Woah Woah Yeah Yeah" ever ever ever again…), and they've dropped the "You're Listening to Real" logo which I still maintain must have confused eastern Scotland listeners as it was a very close "clone" of the "Fife's Kingdom FM" one from their now-very-successfully syndicated TM Studios custom(s).
Didn't know they might be by Chris (Stevens?), but they seem to be much, much "brighter" and fresher than the last Bespoke lot, although the "Feel Good" tagline seems to get a bit fiddly.
Overall, the station sound has (in Scotland at least) been very "cleaned up" I notice, and seems much tighter than the last time I listened (which I'd stopped doing due to the overbearing "Weedgie" presenter style), and the new jingles DO seem to work really well with the less-cluttered presentation.
Only criticism? Certainly not the jingles! – just the apparent attempt to "go for a younger audience" by playing too much of the (ghastly) Capital FM "X-Factor viewers" playlist instead of sticking with the "music for grown-ups" approach.
Whats Chris's company called by the way, and is there a website for it we can have a look at?
June 13, 2011 at 10:32 am #79303DJDaveThe more I hear them I'm starting to like even more, saying that it was like that at first to the music 4 stuff. Talking of Music 4 I see they are still doing the breakfast jingles.
June 13, 2011 at 11:19 am #79305simon_t123MemberWales seemed to be struggling to use these this morning, it was a case of mind the gaps or let's pre-fade the news intro over the last song of the hour lols /wink.gif’ class=’bbc_emoticon’ alt=’‘ />
A good sound overall anyway, I've a feeling they are thru Chris's production company as they are similar to audio on the Ignite website, bright, modern, well sung and ripe for the personal cuts market one day we hope lols … I'm sure someone will be along to confirm all in good time IainJohnston
MemberThanks for that Jessie
(…by the way, I think I have "your song" (!) somewhere on one of my daughter's children's song CDs!)I like Chris' "pun" on "i…..jingles" – can't think where he might possibly have got the idea for the name from!
:^)June 21, 2011 at 2:29 pm #79474brooky148Take a listen simon_t123

Member… wonder if there's a deal between Ignite & TM for vocals ??? like for Lighthouse & Kissville stuff which seems to be either a division of TM or has a deal for vocals thru TM …

I think you are on the right lines with congratulating "Real Radio".
Say no more?June 24, 2011 at 11:18 am #79524brooky148@Simon…well i have some news, I emailed Sandy Beech at Music4 for abit of info, heres how it went:
ME: Hi Sandy,
Just a quick question,
when can we expect to hear some Real Radio 2011 Jingles on the website!?!?!
I know that you have produced the Breakfast package, but who has done all of their new package? is that your work, many people are wondering!
also, when you do upload them, can we here a mixture of the stations including Yorkshire not just the North West, that's where im from and i love them!
Many Thanks
SANDY REPLIED:
Hi Dale,
We are getting very close to the completion of the new Music 4 website and that will be loaded with tons of audio from the past 12 months…I appreciate our current site is very out of date in terms of audio uploads.
I can’t give you an exact date but within the next 8-12 weeks or so.
On the subject of Real Radio, yes, we did the breakfast cuts plus ‘re-logoed’ a couple of the feature beds (Real Entertainment/Showbiz and The Real Guide).
The rest of the cuts are, to the best of my knowledge, being treated as in-house productions by GMG Radio overseen by Chris Stevens (but not via his company Ignite). I also believe Tim at Bespoke has also contributed to the package so it’s all a bit of a team effort really.
Chris Stevens can probably fill in the rest of the details for you.
Hope that helps
Best wishes
SandySo i hope this clears things up abit…looking forward to the new website though!
June 24, 2011 at 1:49 pm #79525simon_t123Memberahhh thanks @brooky for that, I reckon Sandy's got that spot on as the more I listen to the female singer in the new jingles the more I'm thinking "BESPOKE" !!! the tracks however are quite different to normal Bespoke Music cuts, a team efforts cool with the results being pretty good */
