Another good one Mike…I`ve been searching for that cut amongst all the Radio 2 stuff I have and at this point in time, cannot find it. As you probably know, there is another “Radio 2 goes racing” from the 1976 package – I`ll keep listening out for tyour “off-air” cut though as the R2 dubs last for hours. Unless, Nicky Schiller can come to the rescue !

I have checked my copy of the 1982 package and it's not on there.

it is indeed.that is the only copy i have of it.and it's a quality recording apart from the v/o.
i think i heard it one week,then was poised with my finger on the pause button of our hi-fi sanyo music system in the front room the following week hoping it'd be played.and i got it hee-hee

Hi Guys

It's from the 1980 package. I have it but only in mono. I'm sure there was another version of this where “Racing” was sung differently. The majority of cuts from the 1980 package came from “Focal point” so i'm assuming that's where this cut originates.

the story continues with more reference to the “Radio 2 goes racing cut” – Mark mentioned earlier in this thread that the “goes racing” cut is from JAM`s Focal Point and of course that`s correct. Just had a listen to Focal Point and it`s cut #17 from that package, so here it is…

This thread has spurred me on to do a montage of Radio 2's 1980 package of “Focal Point”. The last two come from “Country Jam” and there's one in there from “New York 97”. Unfortunately it's in mono but vocally fantastic!

According to the JAM master log sheet for the August 1980 package only the full mix of the 'RADIO 2 GOES RACING' cut is included, listed as cut #43.

Here's an earlier verstion of the same jingle from the 1976 Jam package I think, nevertheless a good jingle.
