Okay as a prospective Community Radio station for Neath & Port Talbot (near Swansea, some people actually think we’re IN Swansea!) I’ve been asked by the rest of the board to start getting quotes for a large jingle package for the station (all depending on Ofcoms yay or nay of course)
Haven’t got a set budget in mind, just been told to get a cutting edge package so where are the best places to go for quotes? Got one off Devaweb and when I next see Tim I’ll get one off him, anywhere else?
Skimping not an option, we’re looking for something that sounds good and is going to last us for a very long time!
So, any suppliers you know of?
Cheers,
Craig

I think you need to approach this a little differently. First of all, what type of programming is on the station? News/Talk? Rock ‘n Roll? Adult Contemporary? …and so on.
Once the format is established, you need to listen to demos that will fit into the format you’re doing. You can listen to demos on several of the companies websites including (in no particular order) but not limited to:
http://www.jingles.com
http://www.tmcentury.com
http://www.s2blue.com
http://www.tonygriffinproductions.com
http://www.thompsoncreative.com
http://www.n2effect.com
http://www.reelworld.com
http://www.pams.com
http://www.studiodragonfly.comOnce you’ve heard something that you like…. that will fit the format… then you can negotiate the pricing of the cuts that you want to purchase.
I hope this helps.

January 9, 2005 at 2:52 pm #24534getchin4ah yes my fault. It’s a station aimed at young people aged 11-25, mainly playing Alternative, Chart and Dance. A sort of cross between Radio 1 and Virgin shall we say!
Great list though, many many thanks!

January 9, 2005 at 3:11 pm #24535AdminAs a guide, when we purchased the Z100 2003 package from Reelworld for Nile FM Cairo 2 years ago, the original quote was $8,500.

January 9, 2005 at 5:49 pm #24537BigdaveThe average resing for a full package will cost between £4-6000 if you use one of the big boys, and up to £10k for a custom. You may get a deal if you use just have the one package resung , but most UK stations will select a composite package full of cuts from differing sets…
It’s best giving those in the know a call for more information – Steve England is particularly good in this area ….as well as the other guys who represent the big 3 .
January 9, 2005 at 7:38 pm #24538JingleMadMemberI wouldn’t hesitate giving Paul Plant a call at Wise Buddah Creative, http://www.wisebuddah.com, they’ve got lots of talent on hand.
Also, some of the European companies like Top Format and PORS Impact Creative can have any of their packages sung in Dallas. They all speak perfect English, by the way! For contact information: http://www.topformat.nl (speak to Lennard) or http://www.pors.nl (speak to Annelies).
Well worth checking out.
