So far I have one jingle!

Jonathan at Jam was saying that a lot of the Radio 1 jingles can’t be resung. For example I have the Now thats what I call jingles – 1990 Radio One CD. I picked a few and he said they were specially commisioned for 1Fm use.

Like the C’mon get up.. jingle and the bit in the middle….

I have already had the ” C’mon get up.. jingle” back in 2004 from Z Force Cut 13

          http://snd.sc/v3s5Jb

I am sure you can still get this re-sung

          Regards

          Martin

Would it be worth Jinglemad building up a fund via donations, then buying a paid for Soundcloud account – giving the login details to trusted contributors? Had a very quick flick through the T&Cs, and didn’t see anything that prevents us doing that. Solo or Pro might do the job.

                    Excellent !

The JAM people are doing well from UKers at the moment, what with Len Groat`s jingles (technically in Portugal !) Skylab, Dirty Feed and two other JM members who have recently bought JAM cuts and I know of an American JM member too.

That`s six JM members who have recently bought JAM jingles…enough said ! ;-)

A cut I never remember hearing before – again, beautifully produced. Well done, Professor!

Mine was ordered on December 8th, and the post-production files on the links are as the 19th, so excellent turnaround – and I know someone who also appears to have been “done” on the same session!

Thanks for the comments guys…I’m really happy with the jingles! Jon and all the guys at JAM have really done a fantastic job. As a radio presenter I’ve used JAM jingles at a couple of stations, but this was my first direct order from them. Infact it was monitoring this thread and hearing the results of other peoples personal cuts that finally persuaded me to take the plunge.

The idea of Skylab was to play Chill/Lounge/Downtempo…in a similar vein to “The Late Lounge” on Jazz FM, Global Radio’s ‘Chill’ in the UK, or SomaFM’s “Groove Salad” from the US. But I wanted to go with a couple of idents and build a bit of an identity with more than just a voice. The few ‘Chill/Lounge’ stations out there tend to feature voiced station imaging, with little or no effects. So the amount of syndicated packages out there are more-or-less non-existent, unless I went for custom tracks. I decided on JAM because the original “Magic Music” back catalogue from the 1970’s & 1980’s features cuts that veer nicely into the Chill/Lounge format, although I guess Jon wasn’t thinking that far ahead at the time! I have to admit the cost of the personal cuts also was a deciding factor as well. So after a few emails bouncing between myself and Jon…I went with a couple of cuts from Magic Music 2 & 3, plus cut no.5 from “The Spirit of 76”. It goes against all the rules of radio anywhere in the world to have jingles effectively from the 1970’s/1980’s seguing songs from the late 1990’s and up-to-date. But seriously…they work very well! Infact…I can feel another order coming on in the future! ;)

The fact that all the cuts I’ve ordered has been produced for BBC Radio 2 in the 1980’s is a bit of a coincidence!

By the way…as a bit of an extra, this short webstream recording of Skylab might be of interest to a lot of JM’ers!

                          Merry Christmas folks!

What a timely compliment to ALL the contributors here, 90% of whom, just LOVE radio and jingles, and do not get paid by, or work in, it….

“monitoring this thread and hearing the results of other peoples personal cuts … finally persuaded me to take the plunge”

I trust some PD’s in British radio will recognise that to ‘match’ much of the ‘heritage’ music they play, many JAM (or TM jingles) from the last 30 years are perfect…

I was just listening to the ‘”Wildfire” cut you just posted ~ trying to figure out if it was from Magic Music 2 ? My fading memory…..

                            A GREAT cut… superbly resung… well done!

It does actually work! Shame the concepts of “MOR” and “Good Music” (and jingles to match) stations no longer seem to exist now on broadcast radio, so more power to your elbow by doing it online!

That “Magic Music” cut is sensational. Damn you – another one to add to my list of “must haves”! It builds brilliantly and is beautifully sung. Bravo (again), Professor …

Just listened to the station whilst working and heard another beautiful Magic Music cut. Any chance you could post them all for us to hear in all their glory (rather than on-air?)
Loving the sound of the station, by the way. Now on my favourites list.

I listen to FIP from time to time as they play some nice down tempo music in their eclectic output. Have had Skylab Radio on since about lunch time and love it. The only thing is I might still have to listen to FIP occasionally to get my fix of the very intimate and silky smooth sounding female presenters :X :”> But I’ll certainly be tuning into Skylab again.

Yes ~ I listened l o n g e r and heard some more (great) jingles, they certainly ‘fit the format’ , which is easy to listen to, and very few ‘switch off points’…

Hi everyone. I hope you don’t mind me chipping in, but I’m about to order my own set of Personal Cuts. Years ago I ordered a simple acapella matching the 95-P-E-N logo. This would be my first order of full jingles with instrumentation.

I wrote to the personalcuts@jingles.com address on Monday but haven’t heard back as of Tuesday night. Haha, it’s all very exciting. How many days does it normally take for JAM to return your personal cuts email?

The order is six cuts… it’s for my sports internet radio station. Many of them will be from the “New York Fan” package. Oh! And what are the busy months of the year for JAM? Great to be back at jinglemad, and great cuts from those who have posted ’em! Geoff Barton’s acapella was simply amazing.

Don’t worry – Jon DOES get to the Personal Cuts emails OK – as explained on the JAM website (and indeed similarly on those of other companies) the Personal Cuts service has certain “rules” to allow the cuts to be done as economically as they are.

You’ll find that Jon really DOES go into proposed personal orders in fine detail and you’ll find when he replies he’ll have excellent constructive advice ready on how to get the best out of what you want – on my latest one I’m yet again impressed with the results (and especially the mixouts!)!

How many days does it normally take for JAM to return your personal cuts email?

Just to re-assure you, Jon’s service is 150% but the criteria for personal cuts is that they are cheaper because you ‘may’ have to wait. In my experience, part of that delay is that Jon makes sure he has everything right for the vocals, and gives GREAT advice to improve the ideas you have for lyrics/ word ‘placing’.

The last 2 cuts I bought are here on JingleMad and I was DELIGHTED in every way. Other JM’ers shared their new cuts recently; listen to Geoff Barton’s L O N G custom acapella !

Lastly, a ‘tip’, it’s more economical to get an acapella namecheck out of a fully sung musical jingle, than just having your name sung.

                                              the ‘Old Man’

A further tip … find a way to get your name (or a desired slogan / tagline etc) into a cut but requested as a SONOVOX insert (or even an “alternative” group vocal lyric line), then for a small amount more you increase the mixout potential of your order, PLUS the post-production potential of what you can digitally edit/mix yourself from the mixout “elements” when you’ve received the bundle from JAM.

NB – whatever you ask for, Jon will ALWAYS clearly state a firm price for the work BEFORE you commit to his recommendations – no nasty surprises (and often some very pleasant audio ones appear … :^) )

Must be that time of the year. I’ve just finalised (with JMW) the lyrics of my new personal cut. Shan’t say what it is, but after last year’s acapella it was always going to be a tough one to choose.

I think you’ll all approve: it’s an epic to mark my fiftieth birthday (though, to be honest, that’s not till late October – I can’t possibly wait till then).

                                                  Will keep you posted.
