Ok i noticed this during my weekly jingle trawl around the sites, on IQ' Blog page – which got me guessing……
“Team IQ has just survived another round of clients in town for yet another huge European custom. The result? A wee bit of a hangover and an epic package that we can’t wait to share with you at the top of September… Stay tuned”Now we know BBC National's like changing there imaging around thier birthdays in September. So could R1 or R2 getting a new set fom these guys ?!, although i do love the Groove Addicts pack & still occasionally hear cuts i don't have, 11 years may have run it coarse for the main package on 2
August 9, 2008 at 10:06 pm #61044mbMemberI doubt it is Radio 2
August 9, 2008 at 10:58 pm #61045PaulIQ are working on 2 big UK packages and one for a Polish radio station.
August 10, 2008 at 2:33 pm #61064IainJohnstonMemberLets hope at least 1 of those 2 UK packages is for the extremely-tired sounding ex-EMAP Scottish stations!
August 10, 2008 at 2:36 pm #61065NickySMemberI'd say it was more likely to be a Global thing now they own GCap … IQ have always been in with Global (Chrysalis) so isn't it more likely to be branding a station like Capital or indeed the whole group which would be “epic” as they put it.
August 10, 2008 at 4:23 pm #61069mbMemberMaybe for the rebrand from the heritage names to Heart as has been rumored.
Just a giant “This is Heart package” for use across the board!!!!
And you thought GCAP were bad….Global …it's a grim future for commercial radio in the UK.
August 11, 2008 at 4:55 pm #61092freq-kyLets just say I heard a couple of Global Radio employees slagging off Invicta and praising Heart on the tube last tuesday between Latimer Road & Ladbroke Grove stations.
Who knows ?
August 13, 2008 at 12:23 pm #61120robertpobjoyWell… we know that R1 has had IQ Beats bits and bobs recently for the Chart Show. Was this them testing the water for a bigger package?
and…. what about Radio 2. 11 years with one package (plus an update) is quite a long time.
I'd hope it'd be for a BBC National, but I'd say that its more likely a Global thing.
August 13, 2008 at 5:08 pm #61128mbMemberRadio is currently happy with its current package.
August 19, 2008 at 1:21 pm #61293robertpobjoyWhat about a Bauer station anyone?
Metro Radio has just changed their voiceover as of yesterday… is there any hope of actually finding some sings here soon? They could come from IQBeats?
I know emap/Bauer have tended to favour Wise Buddah and Reelworld in recent times – but could there be the slightest chance?
August 22, 2008 at 5:31 pm #61398NickySMemberSo it's Heart … and I assume that can be rolled out across the network if they do as is rumoured rename all the heritage brands as Heart … This is Heart, Plymouth's Heart … This is Heart, Southampton's Heart … This is Heart, Kent's Heart etc etc
August 22, 2008 at 6:23 pm #61400mbMemberDoesn't that just leave you cold!!!Still at this rate jingle collecting will be a sinch as virtually every station will be from one package.
BTW The thought of all the heritage stations loosing thier name leaves me cold not the jingles BTW.
Clearly able to accommodate XXXX's Heart – This is Heart or a generic This is Heart at the end.
The package is quite nice but I need more time to listen through a bit before full commenting.
