Totally agree Graham…..
Forget the “Find Lost Doctor Who episodes” campaign…Let’s start a “Find the Lost Steve Wright JAM Jingles Reel” campaign!!May 2, 2016 at 8:16 pm #100028GrahamCollinsI rather think that the only man who has them all is a certain Mr Wolfert in Dallas !
May 2, 2016 at 8:23 pm #100029IanMemberI’m not sure that they are connected.
The boiling oil cuts were job 76 from 1986 on the attached whereas I believe that the cuts that I have posted examples of I believe were from job 47 from 1983.
I first heard the cuts I’ve posted in late 1983 and early 1984 so can’t be connected to the boiling oil reel.May 2, 2016 at 8:30 pm #100030IanMemberI rather think that the only man who has them all is a certain Mr Wolfert in Dallas !
I totally agree Graham. Would be great to hear the story behind them.
May 2, 2016 at 8:34 pm #100031rakMemberWas Reel #47 the Namecheck logo/accapella jingle that went (I think) “Steve Wright on a Sunday Morning”? Who knows if that is on the same reel as the “Sunday to Thursday, SW” cut, though it MUST have been around the same time (Oct ’83 on the listings)? One for JMW
May 2, 2016 at 9:32 pm #100032Mark_PaxtonMemberUnfortunately he can’t power it up anymore. I didn’t ask which other sweeps he made. There was a “Non-stop music, music, music… Radio 1 FM” and a wonderful year stager “Radio 1 FM (orchestral hit) 1987!”- were they made in the pit at Egton and does anyone have a good copy?
Here you go Duncan.

Thanks for that Ian!

I’ve always thought that the Steve Wright acappella you mention is on Reel #58 in the Radio Rewind list shown above.
May 2, 2016 at 10:02 pm #100037IanMemberIt could well be Graham. I have the log sheets for the main packages of 1976 to 1984. But it would be great to know exactly what cuts are on all these other reels instead of a generalisation.
Maybe JW will oblige us one day. -
