I think this could be the same montage Jon played on his Rewound Radio show a couple of shows ago (although he played it in 2 parts).

Peter don’t keep reminding me that none of my personalised PAMS jingles were used in this PAMS 21st Century Sampler or that Geoff Barton managed to get TWO on it! :p
Also who is this Dave Nightingale character and why hasn’t he made a montage of his “new” Radio One Jingle re-sings from the 1980’s! ;)

          Hi
I listen to Solid Gold Gem AM during the daytime while I am working from home, which if you do not know, is a internet only Radio Station that plays oldies from the 50’s through to the 80’s as well “New Gold” which is more recent records, I heard Oasis on this station recently which was a complete surprise. One of the day time DJ’s is Dave Nightingale and last week he played some “New Jingles” which were re sings from Radio 1 Jam Jingles from the 80’s.
The station plays loads of jingles which are mostly re sings of old PAMS and JAM jingles, there lots of Solid Gold GEM AM jingles on Soundcloud.

Is it as good as Rewound Radio Sunday Evenings between 8-11pm (UK Time) ;)
            They have a lot of PAMS/JAM re-sings too……
To be honest I don’t like “Oldies” Stations if they play modern hits……That’s what BBC Radio Two did and look what they turned into! ?

“…Solid Gold Gem AM….which if you do not know, is a internet only Radio Station…mostly re sings of old PAMS and JAM jingles”

              Peter…if only you knew!
              :) o:) :) o:)

You really must up your “visit-rate” on JM from 8 in 10 years!
              But…Welcome Back!
              :)

PS – “New Gold” / “Future Gold” – Ugh!
KRLA 1110 Pasadena tried that years & years ago when they realised their “3000-plus items oldies library”
(three THOUSAND!!!) was burning out from being “overplayed”. It didn’t work against FM.

What does THAT say for certain “overseas-owned” UK (networked) stations that
“play the same few tracks, every single day, all year round, just in a different order each day”
as people grumble about on certain “radio forums”!!!

Thank you for the welcome back, I will try to be more pro-active!
I am a collector of Jingles mostly Radio 1 PAMS and JAM, I have never heard the Radio 1 15th Birthday jingle in Stereo before, did you have this in your collection?

Oddly enough, I don’t have either the 15th or 21st birthday ones as cuts, just on some of my old aircheck cassettes.

The 15th Birthday Series 31 cut was in mono…
I think you are referring to the 50th Birthday Jingle that was on the PAMS 21st Century Montage….. ?

Yes this one caught me out, originally I though they sung 15 years of fun, but after a second listen it was 50, it never occurred to me that JAM did another one for the 50th Birthday, I should be more vigilante!

Hi Ian, sorry that I have not got back to earlier, I have been really busy this week. Just to let you know that there are two Radio 1 birthday jingles on the 1987 package for the stations 20th and 21st anniversary.
