The new sung jingles produced for The One Network are great, but my local station Gemini FM prefers to keep using the awful sweepers. They only seem to use one of the new jingles as a bed for the breakfast show trailer!!! Travesty!!!

Does anyone have any insider information as to why this may be, or does anybody else listening to a One Network station have a similar tale to tell? The Gemini FM cuts also don't appear on the Music 4 site where a lot of others do.

Let's have more 'sung' jingles on the radio!!!!! javascript:addtext('~:(',true)

I've not heard any Plymouth Sound cuts to date, or Orchard FM. GCap were looking to sell off some of these stations before due to ownership limits or something, perhaps they were not worth the investment …

Small group stations like SGR Colchester or Ten 17 FM dont appear to have their own packages, although SGR Colchester might well use the SGR FM package which I think is sung “SGR FM” …

Here in Essex we still have Reelworld for daytimes, sweepers overnight & Music 4 @ Breakfast, it's a mish mash of imaging styles ! We do have Reelworld / Music 4 hacked together news & travel beds too.

Our most imteresting point is that Essex FM had their package sung “Todays Best Music – Essex FM” The ONLY station in the group to have a different strap. As thats not in line with network I wonder if the Essex FM Music 4 cuts were ever destined to air …

Hmmm most interesting ! The Essex FM package on the Music 4 website has had it's strapline resung to “Todays Best Mix” … 'tis a conspiracy I tell ya lol.

I do have the entire package as previous sung from where I first listened to it on the Music 4 website. I imagine sung as “Todays Best Music” they will never air now. A rarity !

Funnily enough,SGR & Orchard are now on the M4 website.

It looks like they've sneaked in some more as I don't recall BRMB and Beacon Radio being there previously (If anyone knows different let me know)

BRMB was in there, so was Red Dragon, some of the later packages to be added were sung with station name & no strapline …

Cheers – BRMB was not in there last time I looked.

Interesting about the Essex FM one having changed to Today's Best Mix, I too clearly remember it being Today's Best Music.

Although, having just listened to BRMB cuts – that is Today's Best Music!

It's not a bad package it's just not a great package. It's a wallpaper jingle package nothing to remeber or stand out. I think TM jingles for Chiltern and Beacon were MUCH better. Especially as the Beacon ones reflected the last logo sung by JAM and wasa much stronger logo.

Agree with MB there, shameful that the group package replaced Beacon's Kissville package for which contracted updates probably still arrive ! Also Q103s package was excellent, resings of Jones TMs Viking FM. I had a cut from that sung for me ! Dont think I could ever afford one by Music 4 lol, I emailed once for a quote and they never replied …

Travelling around the country as I do on quests to find the perfect woman (lol) I've heard the GCap Music 4 package in use in various places, it does actually work on air. Some station names sung better than others mind. and breakfast WILL sound stale if update cuts are not forthcoming …

I think re: the site & straplines theres some confusion deliberate or otherwise, I've certainly downloaded all the Essex FM stuff sung as todays best music, it does however re: BMRB it might be ex Capital stations keeping a separate strap as they still dont really carry network programming, I feel theres always been something different done the ex-Capital stations.
