October 6, 2015 at 1:55 pm #98579IainJohnstonTC – are we “allowed” to swear like that on JM ?!?!?!? :eek
(…and is the “acapella mix out” available ? :^) )October 6, 2015 at 6:41 pm #98584PKMemberImagine if there was an outtake of the Series 18 ‘Rey Slides’ for Tony Blackburn’s version instead of the usual ‘Whoopie’ end lol!
On the unofficial 1973 Series 18 sonovox jingles Radio Caroline had (which I believe Steve England was involved with) there was a version that ended with ‘@@@@ Off’! Needless to say Caroline has never broadcast that version lol!October 7, 2015 at 1:05 am #98593Tracy CarmanMemberThat KJOY Series 18 cut was on the 1962 reference reel… so it’s fair game. Not my usual to include such things without bleeping it out but I let this one slip through the cracks. No acappella mix as it was sung into (and mixed into) the backing track in real time.

October 7, 2015 at 11:39 am #98598LenGroatThe Chiltern cut at 0.19 has Alfasound writer Alan Fawkes clearly audible in the vocals – Alan’s daughter Melanie (who died when she was still young) is also very audible in the female vocals.
Alan did not think he could sing but in the early days he did to fill-out the group vocal sound. People criticise his work but having written 8 packages with him and sat through endless sessions at Alfa from 1980 to 1988 I can say he was a skilled writer, eager to learn the ‘art’ of jingles. This meant he created the first regular proper ‘jingle vocal group’ in Britain and he made some beautiful soft jingles. Near the end of the 80s he wrote some great uptempo more modern tracks for Trent that were sung in Dallas and fitted perfectly with the JAM cuts sung at the same sessions.

Who did that Piccadilly rip-off?!?October 10, 2015 at 9:13 am #98637IainJohnston“Any similarity to real {jingles} living or dead, is purely coincidental” as they say…
Messrs Alfasound Tapetrix …
October 10, 2015 at 9:16 am #98638PKMemberI remember very well hearing that Piccadily jingle regularly on air around 1978 ish not realising the British original was a JAM BBC Radio 2 cut. I think the Piccadily version was early Alfasound Tapetrix?

June 11, 2016 at 3:23 pm #100289Tracy CarmanMemberI’m not loving the way SoundCloud doesn’t handle embedded audio these days… so… I’m going to make space on my server for OMM samplers. That way they’re all in one place and can still be linked to from here. If anyone’s interested in jumping on the bandwagon, let me know.
June 12, 2016 at 11:53 am #100298IainJohnstonYes please TC – I’m “registered” with your earlier recent “pilot” run – do I need to do more for this?

Worth giving it a go

Yes please.
June 13, 2016 at 2:46 am #100321Tracy CarmanMemberOkay… So I’ve built kind of a template as to how it’s going to look at http://www.jingles.online and have begun putting up my 81 OMM samplers. I think it’s foolish for those who have a LOT of samplers to have to upload them one by one by one by . . . so for those that have many and are technically savvy, I’ll set up your own private FTP to get them all uploaded at once. Once they’re up, if you do future OMMs, they’ll not be in with your stuff but appended to the last page. It would be too time consuming to go back and fit your latest selection to the right place and have to move everything else to accommodate it.
Take a look… and let me know your thoughts.
June 13, 2016 at 8:30 am #100323tyty21just some server bugs, but otherwise, good work! love the idea!

Not really bugs. I hadn’t added all of the links yet. It should look a little better now.
October 9, 2016 at 7:04 pm #100750jonnoMemberJust discovered I had a decent copy of Alfasound collection vol.29 this on the hard drive, so here we go..
Alfasound Radio I.D. Jingles Volume 29
Cheltenham Radio, Dune FM, GEM AM, Oasis FM, KLFM, Sanyu FM, Sun FM, Lincs FM, Signal 2, Gold Radiohttps://soundcloud.com/jonno-10/alfasound-radio-ids-volume-29-omm
I had to mock up the cassette sleeve for this one. If anyone has an original they could scan and email me, I’d be eternally grateful! Thanks
October 9, 2016 at 9:37 pm #100752IainJohnstonMy existing wav dub from the tape hasn’t a card insert scan either – mine only have the inserts up to Vol 27
– but if thats a mock-up “card” its damn good one !!! :^)October 10, 2016 at 8:50 pm #100758jonnoMemberI just erased the text from an existing scan and re-typed the volume number and station names.. nothing clever, but thanks
October 10, 2016 at 10:03 pm #100759IainJohnstonActually, Gents, as this is getting to be a LONG OLD thread, with loads of “deid links”,
perhaps time once again for a “refresh” as “…..time-on-my-hands-pt3” new thread ?
And some new audio compilations?
