Here's what I've heard, over the air. Yes, all references to “Oldies” seem to now be gone. 2 of these are the same as the ones they got back in February, re-sung for WODS. Then of course the Do It Again weather close, which was already mentioned.
October 4, 2009 at 6:36 pm #70382mjb1124MemberThat seems to be all but one of the new cuts (the other one is at the beginning of the montage I posted). I hope there's at least a few more on the way, and that they aren't all shotguns – I miss the variety they had before. But hey, any JAM is better than no JAM.
October 29, 2009 at 6:06 pm #70896loujosephsquick find the wror composite package berko had done at the same time nothing but class was on air.. these oldies 103 cuts most of em aired at W ROR 98.5
October 30, 2009 at 1:04 am #70902jlehmannI have some airchecks of that era of WROR, I don't believe they were using these.
Here's some more that have shown up on WODS in recent weeks.

November 14, 2009 at 5:31 pm #71110mjb1124MemberAs expected, they've gone all-Christmas and are airing new holiday jingles from JAM. These are the three cuts I've heard so far.

November 16, 2009 at 7:33 pm #71125AndyWaltersMemberSounds a lot like WCBS did a few weeks ago. Pretty Damn Good!

I really love those Christmas cuts from JAM. My favorite one has to be the one originally done for WLS-AM in Chicago (“Season's Greetings to You, from WODS!”)
As much as I really enjoy the JAM jingles in Boston radio, I have a bad feeling about the KOST holiday jingles this year after the Reelworld shock. Only time will tell…

I'm guessing that we haven't heard it yet (if they do have the whole thing) because of the “the beauty of December is a time you will remember…” line.
November 17, 2009 at 8:09 pm #71132dianablanton1984MemberI really hope they got that entire jingle too! I can't get that song out of my head just thinking about it!!!
November 17, 2009 at 8:21 pm #71133JAM / PAMSMemberAt the risk of spoiling the surprise, the answer is yes. They did get the entire song from “Christmas Kit”. Whether they'll play it or not remains unknown (although I know that the PD likes it).
One minor correction… The “Christmas Kit” package was originally done for WABC, not WLS (although WLS ordered it as soon as it came out.)

December 3, 2009 at 8:06 pm #71391jlehmannHere's some more new jingles from WODS. The first and third ones are probably just different versions of the same cut, and doesn't really sound like it's a Christmas jingle. The last one, the same jock cut that CBS-FM uses, is also not Christmas.
I recorded for 6 hours today, now that we're into December. The Christmas Kit song wasn't played, so I'm not sure if they've played it yet.

December 3, 2009 at 8:57 pm #71397tyty21nice jock cut at the end! classics at work still!
December 4, 2009 at 12:57 am #71412mjb1124MemberI was listening yesterday and I remember a longer version of the third cut with some kind of holiday-related lyric. Don't remember what it said exactly.
Nice to hear the Positron jock ID too.
December 24, 2009 at 8:58 pm #71747jlehmannWODS still has not played the entire Christmas Kit song. I don't know if they're saving it for next year, or if upper management just wouldn't allow such a long jingle to air. I called up this morning asking about it, and Paula Street ran through the jingles, and the longest one in the system was only 13 seconds.
December 24, 2009 at 11:26 pm #71748jingleoneIt's a shame they won't run the long Christmas Kit cut. I can still remember hearing the Chritmas Kit cuts on the original WROR in Boston (98.5). They ran them for many, many years. Speaking of 'ROR, that was a station that had many fabulous JAM jingles through the years (what I'd pay to hear those composites…)

Still, I would bet it's a matter of station management not wanting play something so long. But who knows, maybe they'll suprise us with it tomorrow.
At least they're a little looser than CBS-FM where it seems like they won't air anything longer than 10 seconds. I would guess that's why they shortened their “Merry Christmas” jingle from Holiday Pack.
December 25, 2009 at 2:07 am #71750jlehmannHere's the full version of Cut 8 from The Christmas Collection. 30 seconds is still twice as long as the longest of the others though, so that must just be over someone's limit.

June 28, 2012 at 12:16 am #85093jlehmannUnfortunately there will soon be no more JAM jingles on 103.3 in Boston. They’re flipping to CHR, 103.3 Amp Radio tomorrow at noon. Hopefully this is not the last time JAM jingles are heard in Boston.
June 28, 2012 at 2:13 am #85094mjb1124MemberWow, very sad news… WODS has been a great sounding station. But admittedly their ratings haven’t been all that good, and I guess maybe the writing was on the wall when they decided to just let Brian Thomas run it from New York. You would think they would wait until after Christmas to do a format flip though. Guess WROR will have that all to themselves now, or perhaps Greater Media will now put the Christmas music on WMJX instead.
At least it’s reassuring to know that other CBS Classic Hits stations are doing well.
June 28, 2012 at 11:36 am #85097BarrasThanks for letting the Jinglemad community know about this jlehmann, sad news indeed, seems like this area of North-East USA is the same as where I live in North-East UK, no JAM jingles on-the-air.
June 28, 2012 at 1:43 pm #85098dianablanton1984MemberI did not see this one coming. WODS-FM in Boston will be sadly missed not only to its listeners, but to us jingle fans alike…
June 28, 2012 at 3:12 pm #85100IainJohnstonMemberStory broke (at very short notice) yesterday…
http://www.musicradio77.com/wwwboard/messages/397040.htmlJune 28, 2012 at 6:06 pm #85103glenAnd we can only guess who is going to do the jingles!
