Today I noticed Oldies 103.3 here in Boston using some new classic WABC cuts for the first time. They still seem to be using the ones they got a little over a year ago, though not as often. Maybe they'll slowly get back to playing them all together eventually. Gotta love that sonovox!

February 18, 2009 at 1:34 pm #65180BarrasThanks Jeff for posting these, it`s good news that WODS are using more JAM jingles, I wish some of my local radio stations would hear sense and go back to JAM.
I know the last cut in your montage, the Jon Wolfert sonovox cut is from the Priority One package first released in 1975 – I`m guessing at cut #12.

February 19, 2009 at 3:49 pm #65190radioboy949Wow. That's the way jingles are supposed to sound. Amazing.
February 19, 2009 at 7:37 pm #65193mjb1124MemberI had a feeling Oldies 103 would expand their package sooner or later. I like how they're using the “New England's Favorite” and “Musicradio” tag lines. Very nostalgic.
By the way it seems like they're mainly using the older JAM sings mixed in with sweepers (plus the TOH and weather bed), with the new cuts used by themselves in between songs.

In these days, where Oldies stations are more than ever committed to make the format consistent and authentic, the choice of jingles from PAMS/JAM is an intelligent choice.
I also respect stations that go for contemporary companies and ask for custom packages that replicate the sound of 50s and 60s.
Such was the case of Johnny Walker who came to Wise Buddah recently and asked the guys to create jingles for his 60s and 70s.
I think they did a great job there. Wise Buddah always delivers.
But if you were an oldies station, would you go to the existing catalogs of JAM or go custom?
February 22, 2009 at 7:05 pm #65246mjb1124MemberJust heard another one – Music Jam cut #23 with the lyrics “New England's Weekend Favorite”. Great choice there!
February 23, 2009 at 12:52 am #65251jlehmannHere's that weekend jingle.

February 24, 2009 at 9:20 pm #65267jlehmannWow, they must have just started using that this afternoon! I was listening this morning, and it was still the CBS-FM “Home of the Hits” TOH.

Incredible …… old JAM tracks that still sound GREAT (and work) but the vocal sound sounds just slightly crisper and younger ~ a great combination.
April 23, 2009 at 2:48 am #66573jlehmannOldies 103.3 has started mixing in some of last year's “Home Of The Hits” and other WABC jingles in with the ones they got 2 months ago. Seems like they were just resting them for a while.
August 16, 2009 at 5:30 am #69117tyty21jumping out of the radio. try jumping out of my laptop! pro radio don't ya think
August 27, 2009 at 1:43 pm #69382pvrakkingWhen I was for work in Boston, I was so suprised with the sound of WODS/Oldies 103.3. An oldies station that sounds like a hitstation. I recorded a lot of program's then.
September 29, 2009 at 3:58 am #70265jlehmannWODS seems to be going in the direction of WOGL in Philly and WOMC in Detroit, by phasing out the “Oldies” name. They are still using some of the “Oldies 103.3” jingles, but today, they began airing some “WODS” sonovoxes.
September 29, 2009 at 5:35 am #70267mjb1124MemberIt's amazing that they kept “Oldies” in their name this long, but I guess it was bound to be dropped sooner or later. Good to know they are still using JAM.
I would guess this means we'll hear new Christmas jingles as well… hopefully ones from JAM, which would actually give me a reason to look forward to the ridiculously early onslaught of holiday tunes.
September 29, 2009 at 6:52 am #70269tyty21nice priority 1 toh!
September 29, 2009 at 8:50 am #70273pvrakkingWhich JAM package is WODS now using?
September 29, 2009 at 9:19 pm #70289mjb1124MemberThe new cuts so far are all from Priority One. They've also been using stuff from Home Of The Hits, Do It Again (the weather bed), Positron, Pro/Mod, Class Action, and Music Jam.
October 1, 2009 at 1:40 pm #70317pvrakkingI could not resist and I took the jingles recordings in this thread and created one file of it, the new WODS JAM jingles package.

October 1, 2009 at 3:35 pm #70319nostalgieThanks, Peter! This is radio at its best!
October 2, 2009 at 6:20 pm #70331mjb1124MemberMore new WODS jingles today… the tail end of the Do It Again weather jingle was resung with the call letters, and there are also cuts from LogoSet and Pro/Mod. I also didn't hear a single “Oldies 103.3” jingle while I was listening, so they may be gone for good.

More to come, hopefully!
