Just discovered this music production company's web site. Anybody know much about them? I seem to recall that they produced the 1999 Hallam FM jingle package.

Interestingly, their web site says they have programmed jingle packages for Alfasound and Clocktower Creative. There are a couple of demos to download, one of which is called “Demo 01- Radio ID's” and features lots of Alfa jingles from 1997 from “LA Connection” (Metro FM), “Essential Rhythm ” (Northsound 1) and Key 103 1997. As an added bonus, the demo finishes with the TOTH cut from the “Key 103 '97” package complete with the Brian James liner!

Yeah.. noticed that one a while ago when just randomly searching for 'Key 103' on Google. Well done for posting though – I'd (wrongly) just assumed it was a website that was more known about.

The 1997 Key 103 Top of Hour, with Brian James, is also available as a seperate mp3 file elsewhere on the same site.

Interesting stuff, like the 2BR cuts!

Interesting find there Mark. I've never heard of this company before, but they seem to have had an involvement in a couple of my favourite jingle packages (key 103 '97 and Metro FM '97) By “programmed” I'm presuming they mean composed?? Perhaps in a similar way that TM Century's “The Bee” was composed by Noise Fusion, with the final production and vocals by TM, did Octagon compose the music tracks for these ALFA productions? Nice to finally get a decent copy of “that” TOH cut. I can finally stop playing my crappy off air recordings!

The 2BR cuts were an interesting listen too, Am I right in thinking they wasn't used on air though? I thought that the launch package was Steve England's “Kickin' Team”?

Changing the subject sightly, what was Steve England's involvement in Clocktower Creative, actually, who were Clocktower?? I've heard very little about them. Am I right in thinking they produced a few packages after the collapse of Alfasound, but before Steve went solo with his own jingles?

“Clocktower” was the name (still exists) of the organisation that took over when Alfa
ceased to be, with AF only running a commercial ads production service from the
original Alfa studios (look at the old Alfa cassette labels and you'll see the clocktower
on top of the old school building!)

Thinking of another thread, if various “Third Party” writer/composer companies
etc were involved with the creation of many of these packages, will that also
account for the”Soundalikes” and clones that appeared via Alfasound and others?
