While this is True the same can be said of the Songs that CHR stations playI don’t think anyone that is listening to Z100 will be looking back at the current playlist and in 5 years time humming the song they are listing to today ! The same can also be said on the Jingles ! which from a sales point of view is very good as most have a shelf life of 12 -18 months then they have to upgrade (Bit Like windows)
Then again will Reelworld still be around in 30 Years time ! 🙄
Yep…..
Being from The Old School I listen to a jingle coz its catchy and is sung well….not coz it sounds like todays music!
Also (Like a good song) will remember it in 10 years or more.
I personally don’t think any of these “new generation” Jingle Companies
(Reelworld,IQ Beats,N2 Effects, etc) have produced anything that will be a
“Classic” and remembered in 10 years time.
As an example….a lot of you guys know the JAM Song word by word and thats 20 years after it was released!
Many of you have heard this before but this sais it all

I am also from the “Old School” and wonder where did it all go wrong? I think the stations themselves, or rather the companies that own them must take the blame. There are very few stations that stand out individually, Radio 2, Saga and Heart spring to mind here in the Midlands, the rest, to me, sound the same, Mercia FM, Leicester Sound etc. I guess the age thing has got a lot to do with it Oh well, off to take some more Prozac……..

July 28, 2005 at 9:41 am #24984ah-mediaMemberDon’t get me started on how Mercia sounds these days 👿 👿 👿
I agree with what has been said about the “Old School” of jingles. Yes I know every line of The Jam Song, 20 Years in 20 minutes and 30 Years in 30 Minutes … but I think that some of the Reelworld stuff has the potential to sound good in 10 years time.
Take some of the Mix 92.9 pack. I don’t think that most of that is anyway near as modern as th Z100 stuff but for my view, works just as well and is quite a memorable pack.
As much as I like the new Z100 packs on there it isn’t going to be a classic played 10 years down the line and won’t feature in conversations at Jingle Day 2015 but having listened to Z100 on-line the jingles work with the station.
As jingle fans we take these jingles out of context. We listen to them as jingles, not, as they were intended for, as part of a radio station’s output combining music and presenters.
I like the new reelworld stuff and I think that the quality of these jingles can only help other companies such as Jam strive for even better material.

I agree—the WJXA package is probably my favorite ReelWorld package. To me, THOSE cuts are really good. They sound so full of life and energy–I had the pleasure of hearing them on WLYT/Charlotte, and in fact, I thought they sounded better than the JAM package on Charlotte’s other AC, K-104.7.
I am not floored by the rest of the ReelWorld stuff, but that WJXA package is amazing. I’m also curious to see what ReelWorld can do for 106.7 Lite-FM/New York.

July 29, 2005 at 12:59 am #24990joejinglesTo me, it was exciting 10 years ago when Reel World burst upon us. Although the vocals were similar to GMI’s, there was a bit more flare.
Sadly to say, in this Dallas-diehard’s opinion, listening to GMI and R.W., I’ll take GMI. To me R.W. is nothing more than Minnie Mouse meets Star Wars. How can one even think jingle or id in the same sentence with R.W.? Are there any memorable “hooks” or melodies? Not on any of those so called dance and chr packages.
I listened a little to their new stuff then gave up in disgust. And I am not saying the answer is in Dallas either. I like Thompson but not TMC’s rip offs of Thompson vocals. Geeze, I just about got used to their Century 21 “Jam ripoff” sound then they go and pull that stuff. Give the the TM harmony any day.
When collectors in the 80’s gave up the hobby due to lack of interest and burn out, I couldn’t conceive of it. Now I walk in their shoes.
Where is Hugh Heller when we need him?

joe cJuly 29, 2005 at 3:03 am #24991passajouI grow up listening Jam jingles, I love the Dallas chorus. Z100 packages from Jam are the best ever made, no question about it.
But I´m a BIG Reelworld fan too. The vocals, music production, effects: They´re great!

Hi everyone!!I’m new member here, but I collecting the radio IDs from early 90’s. I collected some Dallas-based jingles, i.e. JAM, TM, Thompson, TGP and also non-Dallas based jingles.. or we call it “progressive radio IDs” from Groove Addicts, ReelWorld, etc.
The newest ReelWorld’s website is REELLY COOL!! I’m a BIG ReelWorld fan too!! Their IDs really “ears catching” and up-to-date.. I recommend you for their CHR and some AC packages, especially: WJXA, WLIT, and WNIC.
I love ReelWorld’s Z100 packages (2000, 2003, 2004, 2005 and more to come..). WJXA 2004, WLIT 2002, and KIIS-FM 2004.
Guys, can you inform me about % market share of ReelWorld, Groove Addicts, N2 Effect, IQ Beat, JAM, TM, Thompson and others in your location, especially for major market.. medium market and small market is fine.
I stay in Jakarta, Indonesia.. here dominated by Groove Addicts, TM, JAM, ReelWorld, and Thompson and also local producers. For Groove Addicts, I think their IDs is COOL, especially for CHR, AC, and Smooth Jazz packages!
Thank you.
