Naff jingles – why are they naff!!!!
There is more to life than JAM
I think forgettable would be a more appropriate word.
But that’s just my opinion. Why Naff…..Coz I didnt want to type the word that means Poo 😆
Why Naff…..weak vocals, lack of harmonies,Cuts that you will not remember in 5 years (let alone 30!)
Of course there’s more to life then JAM…….There’s TMCI,
THOMPSON CREATIVE (oops maybe the latter is not a good example!) 😆
But everyone to their own…While we still have a Dallas Group than I’m
Happy….And if some of the other Jingle sites did a makeover like this I
would be deliriously Happy! But that’s my Personal Opinon

I do take your point about weak vocals on Thompson cuts, but not Reelworld!

July 27, 2005 at 8:30 pm #24978WelshjinglerThe website is slow but easier to get around. I miss the game between loads, that was nice.

July 27, 2005 at 8:52 pm #24979mbMemberThe animation on the site is great but I think the load times are a real pain, As I said a few days a go about the IQ Beats website it really suffers from flashterbation – a case of designers not knowing when to stop with the flash – from a design point of view it really is a kewl site but if you want to go into it again and again and again the novelty value wears off pretty fast. You want a new page and it all has to animate up down and around.
The HTML version doesn’t seem to contain any of the new stuff – I haven’t had much chance to listen to stuff yet – I’m quite a fan of the Reelworld vocals usually, Reelworld jingles for the most part always have momentum and are bright. I think the vocals are way better than IQ beats. I think some of the packages are a bit dull because all the stations want are more music or 99.5 sung – Remember all those packages with vocals that say different stuff – but that ain’t the jingle companies fault.
Love the Bob FM stuff.
I think Reelworld are leading the way at the moment in sung imaging.July 27, 2005 at 8:52 pm #25979mbMemberThe animation on the site is great but I think the load times are a real pain, As I said a few days a go about the IQ Beats website it really suffers from flashterbation – a case of designers not knowing when to stop with the flash – from a design point of view it really is a kewl site but if you want to go into it again and again and again the novelty value wears off pretty fast. Go into the HTML site and type “KDWB” or “KISS 108” in the search field, and there they are! I’d save them while you can!

Why Naff…..weak vocals, lack of harmonies,Cuts that you will not remember in 5 years (let alone 30!)While this is True the same can be said of the Songs that CHR stations play
I don’t think anyone that is listning to Z100 will be looking back at the current playlist and in 5 years time humming the song they are listing to today ! The same can also be said on the Jingles ! which from a sales point of view is very good as most have a shelf life of 12 -18 months then they have to upgrade (Bit Like windows)
Then again will Reelworld still be arround in 30 Years time ! 🙄

Yep…..
Being from The Old School I listen to a jingle coz its catchy and is sung well….not coz it sounds like todays music!
Also (Like a good song) will remember it in 10 years or more.
I personally don’t think any of these “new generation” Jingle Companies
(Reelworld,IQ Beats,N2 Effects, etc) have produced anything that will be a
“Classic” and remembered in 10 years time.
As an example….a lot of you guys know the JAM Song word by word and thats 20 years after it was released!
Many of you have heard this before but this sais it all
